Sunderland V Newcastle

Pools took over 10k to the SOL for an FA Cup tie, I don't remember this and how on earth were they allowed that big an allocation (No rivalry?)

Pretty sure that was a time when Pools actually had a decent team. I remember some Pools fans saying they’d beat Boro and Sunderland if drawn against them.

I’m pretty sure we gave Barrow more than 15% when we played them in the cup 15 or so years ago. I think they brought more than 7000. In both cases, the home club probably thought they’d struggle to sell out to home fans, so they might as well give as many as possible to the visitors. The FA Cup rules say the visiting club is entitled to ask for 15%, but it doesn’t say the home club can’t offer them more if they want.

It hasn't always been 15%, it used to be 25%. Also, most clubs want their ground filling.

Anybody read the thread on their board about ticket allocations?
Word is it could be 7k tickets for the Mags. How can that be right? How do they justify giving us/Leeds only 2,200 based on Health and Safety?
It can be right because it's an FA Cup match not a league match. For FA Cup matches the away allocation is 15% of stadium capacity.

Agreed. For league matches with safety concerns, it tends to be the away supporters who get a smaller allocation as segregation measures are stepped up. Most of the 'home' seats are presold season cards. This doesn't apply to FA Cup games where it's easier (and often safer) to give a big section to away supporters.
