Sunderland Train

They won't/don't mob up if recent experience is anything to go by, I usually stay back a few mins at Sunderland through choice as it avoids wading through 40 000 + people.
I was probably thinking back to some back to some bad experiences when the away end was in their south stand.

Any idea how long we'll be held back? I've got to get to my hotel, pick up my bag, then get to my coach home. A 10 minute delay is fine, an hour is a huge problem for me.

Also, it's been known since the playoffs that we'd visit Sunderland this year, since pre-season that it'd be this weekend, and since mid-August that it'd be 12:30 Saturday, so why the hell is this only being announced less than 72 hours before kick-off?
Held back for we think 10 or 15 minutes something like that and people staying inside the stadium in the concourses not corralled outside.

What a sihtshow that was. Even the police hadn't been briefed on what was actually going on. Ended up chancing my luck and barging through their line to avoid getting kettled onto a train

Used to go to Sunderland but one too many bad experiences. Won’t go anymore. Delighted for those who went today. Deserve it

It took ages to get back to St Peters
Am hearing some bad reports before and after on the train.
I stayed behind in the stadium for a fair while so could just walk to my car in Roker but I hear others ended up back at the train station. We have some contacts now so will definitely need back information. Mistakes were made at the top yesterday - the trains were agreed at the wrong times. It wasn't revealed til too late. We all advised against (fans, Boro FC Sunderland FC,) but it was too late for Northern to move the special. That was a fundamental error, a late special so maybe not such a surprise there were other big policing operation problems.

A full report has been forwarded from Middlesbrough Supporters Forum to the Match Commander from Northumbria Police and he has replied and is investigating from the details we have provided.

Good to know it's being followed up, but a shame that the rest of us weren't asked to contribute.

I bet a lot of their fans were on theor sofas by the time the final whistle went, blaming the ref for giving Burra the win.
