Sturgeon

Whole thing stinks to high heaven.... She is up to her neck in it and its only a matter of time until this takes her down.

According to my Scottish mate while the SNP is (clearly) massively popular, she is widely known as The Wee Chünty. The h is silent.

To be fair we have only heard one side of the story so far.

Clearly no love lost between Alex and Nicola though.

Well no @Yearbyred Nicola went with (and this is paraphrasing)

'Alex is a crazy conspiracy theorist'

So it's not fair to say we've only had one side.

My favorite us the former scottish labour leader, who reffered to her ( before her style over) as " the wee lassie with the hair".
During the referendum a lot of my scottish colleges assurred me of SNP victory ( tongue in cheek) as Salmond had guarenteed word cup qualification!.
Seriously this is going to tear the SNP apart, too many factions

Craig Murray.
Former British Diplomat has been following this case for over a year and was threatened with imprisonment for publishing information which supports Salmond`s case and denies vehmently, allegations made by the Scottish Legal system and Nicola Sturgeon against him.
Craig has been proven right.
There`s going to be a lot of rats running for the sewers and a big fall - out for Scottish politics, particularly the SNP.

We have only heard one side state their case in front of the committee.

I believe Nicola Sturgeon gets her turn next week.

So I think it was a fair comment.

westminister is worried about the May elections - this is all part of a game to stop a SNP landslide victory.

its a dirty game is politics - and theres non better at playing the dirty war than London.
The sort of wacky conspiracy theory that Trump's acolytes would be proud of.

Former SNP leader sues an SNP ran Scottish government and it's a Westminster plot?

Riiiiight.

I literally have no clue what's going on here. Who's the bad or good guy.

If anyone can do a four line synopsis for nuggets like me (which seemingly the BBC can't), that would be appreciated

Imho
Top Middle aged politician gets accused of sexual misconduct.
Number two politician distances self from situation immediately ( for good of party etc)
Top politician cleared of all charges.Wants to get back in to politics
However, number two is now numero one top politician.
Both dig dirt about what happened.
Only on possible winner.

happily be corrected by more informed poster.

Sure @Ebor, so this relates to the sexual misconduct charge against Salmond (he has been acquited) in summary Alex Salmons claims under oath:-

That senior members of the SNP including Sturgeons husband colluded and 'constructed' evidence against him. He has evidence of this in the form of messages that were turned over to him in the disclosure process.

That Sturgeon misled parliament (holyrood) by lying about when she knew about the charges against Salmond.

That he (Salmond) had been treatened by the Crown office (Scotland's CPS) to limit the scope of his investigation and that its not independent, misused legislation to block the provision of evidence.

Finally Salmond claimed that the government had been told months prior that they were going to lose yet kept on going. Another breach of ministerial code.
