Strongest front four?

Or most complimentary front four?

If all our options are fit and playing as well as they can, or have for us, who starts?

-------------------------------Conway-------------------------------

Illing-Jnr--------------------Iheanacho----------------------Doak

I'd guess this from their pedigree / price tags / why loan them otherwise?

-------------------------------------Forss--------------------------------

Burgzorg--------------------------Azaz----------------------Whittaker

Second string?

Striker:
Conway
Iheanacho
Burgzorg/Forss/Whittaker

Wide right:
Doak
Whittaker
Forss

Central / 10:
Azaz
Iheanacho
Whittaker
McGree

Wide left:
Iling-Junior
Burgzorg
McGree/Azaz

and from your first 4 only 1 will be here next season
That's sort of what I'm getting at, why go to the bother if we're not going to utilise them?

Carrick seems to have gone back to Giles to recreate what he previously offered, but Forss and McGree were big parts of that too and he's not going back to them seemingly, although I suppose you never know how fit they actually are.

That's the issue, we're having to recruit for these positions again as they can't be relied upon to be fit

It's nice to see we have a number of options up the top end of the pitch.

But I'm much more worried about the lack of options/depth we have at the bottom end of the pitch.
I think in some ways the top four are part of the defensive problems. The three behind the striker offer very little to us defensively - it's fine saying they're part of the attack, but that doesn't give them a free pass. The reason the CM two get so swamped is because the three in front of them are giving so little support.

Yep. I mentioned something similar on another thread.

If we have to start Ayling again, against Sheff Utd, then whoever plays RW needs to be tucking in and supporting Ayling, to make us more resolute.

All being well looking good going forward and scoring goals....but it's literally pointless if we can't keep them out our own net.

I’d agree with your first choice and second choice front 4. Although if Whittaker refinds last seasons form he might be ahead of Doak due to goal scoring ability

Azaz ! I hope he improves and gets his form back.

Id stick Burgzorg as CF, he has pace and can chase down well, he needs to work out things with the new boys as well.

No idea. Only one I've seen anything of is Ian nacho.
I would play the ones most karankafied as I believe it's our lack of shape and attacking players not putting in a shift that costs us rather than having poor defenders.

Heard iannacho can play back to goal though which would be a big plus.
I would drop Azaz for the next five games or something as we aren't good enough to carry players defensively.

Does anyone else think that our obsesssion with trying to improve the attacking lineup means that Carrick is going to ask Hackney to play more of a sitting role alongside Morris (like England at the Euro's where the midfield two sat in and protected the defence much more than they do for Boro.

So rather than getting another DM in we have decided to go big on the front four in the hope they can do the business while the defence and midfield become more solid.

Didn't look like this particularly on Monday night as Hackney got forward lots but it might be a way we go in the future. We need to change something as we are so open when teams hit us on the counter. This is going to be even more so if we are asking Giles to push forward

Maybe, he can play deeper and start attacks from there, and actually we should be able to have that longer ball outlet for Iheanacho to hold up with Doak, whittwkar, Iling-Juniors pace to support
