No one bothers to clean out the drains here in the Fens…..I nearly boughta house on this new estate!!!

Had the dog out earlier on the local field. The wind was really picking up and driving the rain nearly horizontally. We lasted about 10 minutes before I got sick and came home. He'd have happily stayed out catching his ball though.

this is the problem! I am sick off seeing blocked drains no wonder we have flooding! Near me, most are blocked.

I’ve just had a text alert from the Environment Agency about the threat of flooding in the Middle Levels. I’m some way from the river but I’m right on the edge of the flood plain area.

We had a number of houses in the town which flooded a few years ago just before Xmas - in esssence because the ditches hadn’t been cleaned out of shopping Trollies and other assorted rubbish folk dump in them. Again was near on new estate. The drains overflowed and the water just ran into the houses.

I’m told an appeal has gone out on Facebook for sand bags - I just hope everyone is OK.
