Stop the abuse please

I think it’s clear cut that thread about a death or a threads about funeral, you don’t need to discuss anything else other than the events being discussed. Those threads demand the utmost respect in that situation

Going out of you way to tell people you avoid the funeral on a thread about a funeral is in my opinion out of line

You wouldn’t go a rip for a football or musician and say they were crap at what they did

If Steve Gibson died, it wouldn’t be right to discuss his successor on his funeral thread

I do get it.
Just loom at the republican thread where people are going in just to say ‘God save the King’
Thankfully they are just being ignored.

It reminds me of the time of the Brexit debates, two very different opinions and schoolyard type bickering going on. Bottom line is that our country is very divided at the moment and so we all need to be tolerant of each other's views.

Completely agree, in the last couple of weeks I’ve been called a d*ck, weird, my parents have been brought into it and even had an admin messaging me accusing me of slandering him.

I’ve never slandered anyone on here. I’ll disagree with you, but I won’t sink to personal insults.

The problem is some people just don’t want their views challenged, the reasons behind that are unknown, so will just reality to name calling than trying to have any meaningful discussion.

It’s all Kieran Scott’s fault.
Scrug - thank you for editing your words directed at me. I wasn't actually involved at all in any of the edits and deleted threads over the weekend.
Maybe everyone can take heed of Legz words.

I haven’t edited anything. Someone has deleted it. But just for the record, this is what I said after several posters decided to abuse me. Not sure that’s an insult, but fair enough. You can’t be here all the time.

Approach it as if you were having a disagreement with your mate down the pub
Disagreements with mates after a few drinks can get a bit brutal.
Probably better to approach it as a discussion with a stranger on a train. Although that has been known to lead to a murder arrangement. So maybe a discussion in a library would be safer.

Well said, too many people hide behind their internet name so think they can be bolder etc

In addition people need to think about if their comment belongs on a particular thread before posting it

Spot on Gaz, there’s so much absurd thrown around on here from all sides of debate.

Argh - sorry I apologise to you - I have found it now, sorry it wasn't you serving up the insult but the person you were replying to - my apologies.
Anyway, I wasn't involved in all of this. People should use the ignore function and report any insults flying their way. Legz is right - we should not lower ourselves to fire off insults to one another. I don't read the site avidly 24/7 - not live anyway, so that is why reports are important.

Sorry Scrug.
