Stoke City Freeze Prices

T20 Cricket is an interesting comparison - entertainment is similar to me.

Worcester is my nearest ground and they charge £20 in 2024 for advanced tickets, but you are at the mercy of the weather. Inside the ground alot of it is uncovered benching. I am not sure if you pay a bit extra to go in a covered stand and what the poicy is on refunds for weather. A Boro season ticket this season for me was about £21 with free pint per match (adult), probably £25 with games missed. I will repeat I am not in favour of next years pricing at Boro, its high enough.

How much is a season ticket at Worcester?

So what exactly does it cost to go to the theatre in Stoke?
Probably same as Middlesbrough and I see your point, which is valid.

Unfortunately Championship football is heavily loss making. Look at Hull City's wage bill, at least £30m this season, probably more like £35m - they charge £20 on crowds of 21,000 i.e. ticket revenue approx 40% below us - someone said our ticket revenue was £8.8m in 2023.

I don't think there are season tickets for T20 as its limited games, but will look it up.

edit - there is a card for all the home group stage games - its £140 - it says there are 7 matches, but lists 8 specific matches. Its transferable and gives access to the Pavillion i.e. covered area. The card does not cover knock out stages. If a game is called off , I believe the game is called off I believe its not played again. One game could be easily lost of the 8.

Redcar Bears Speedway is £20 for an adult, but its is the same as attending a game at the Riverside. i.e is it low level uncovered terracing. Children under 16 are free, but how many are interested in following the scores etc? When younger I went to the Speedway with a student friend, but it wasn't the same to me as the football, but a partial subsititute.

A season ticket is only £250 but its not clear how many events that gives free entry to. Some home events are listed as Redcar some as Middlesbrough and there are several different event names.

I paid £44 for the first four days of an England Test match in Cape Town which shows how expensive Boro tickets are.

For myself and the 2 kids to get a season card in the SW corner of the SOL it would be roughly HALF the price of what it would cost to get season cards in the SW corner at the Riverside. That's ok though because when you compare it to going to the Middlesbrough theatre every week, it doesn't actually seem too badly priced! 🤣 .
😂😂👍

All the lower half of the Riverside is uncovered if the wind is above 7 mph

I paid £13 for the whole Test in Dharamsala which could have been 5 days cricket but comparing prices is ridiculous - you can get a decent three course meal with wine in SA for under £20. In NZ my Mount Maunganui day ticket for,the first test last Feb was £12.
