Stick or Switch?

I posted this on the old board about ten years ago so figured it was time to post again on here!

Imagine the scene....... you are the finalist in a TV game show. You are on the stage with the compare and in front of you are 3 doors. Behind one door is a brand new Ferrari, behind the other 2 doors are goats.

The compere asks you to choose a door. He then opens one of the other doors to reveal a goat (the compare knows where the Ferrari is, he's not going to deliberately open that door as where would the suspense be!?).

The compere then turns to you and ask if you want to stick with your original door choice or swap to the other one. What should you do AND WHY??

a) Stick with your original choice?
b) Switch to the other door?
c) It doesn't matter.

Oh Jeebus what a thread that was! I argued on the wrong side because the original scenario had not been clearly defined. I know the answer now. It is actually very obvious when explained.

This could get more divisive than Brexit :D

Aye... but you'd feel like a right nob if you switched, and then won the goat (assuming you didn't want it to BBQ or something)... so better off sticking!
