We take the style for granted now but back then it was so fresh. Genius.

Wasn't my cup of tea at first, but when I was plugging in at Radio 1 for Vindaloo records in the mid 80s, he would actually play Ted Chippington. I started listening to his show around then to see if he played any of our stuff and realised he was really good at what he did. He was also a nice bloke to me... quite a few of them weren't.
People like Chris Moyles owe him heir career.

Listened to a clip of Mr Angry on R4 last night.... brought back lots of memories. The funniest thing on his show was the guy (no idea who he is) who did the Elvis is in the Building slot. Absolutely hilarious
