Steve Cooper reported to be under pressure at Nottingham Forest

If you can sack a manager who got your promoted from taking you bottom of the league to third then that’s a disgrace. Forest should not even be contemplating sacking Steve Cooper. He will more likely go on to bigger and better things either way.

I personally really like Wilder as a bloke (obviously how he comes across, I don't know him although I did meet him at Rockliffe and he was sound with me and my Mrs, had loads of time for us). I enjoy listening to him generally.

What I don't like at the minute are the results and a larger than acceptable majority of the performances. That's why he's under pressure, nothing to do with him as a fella.
Yes I agree it is all to do with results. Wilder's walk right around the home ground applauding the fans after Sunderland showed he does everything he can to connect. That extends to the press, after his first press conference he invited all the media for a drink. This was scuppered by covid. But if you remember he also made press conferences live rather than online straight away and this continued other then when there was another covid outbreak.
But this is a performances and above all results situation. I really hope we can turn things around. I don't like ripping it up and starting again every autumn.

I think you need to look at McClaren here - presided over our most successful period ever, but would get pelters for:-

1) his teeth
2) his hair
3) his saying "magnificent" in interviews

Some of us hated Warnock, as he both didn't get results but came across as crass, arrogant and bigoted in interviews.
In fairness McLaren’s teeth and hair were very questionable.

I think it was more his loyalty or lack of that fans took issue with to be honest.

In fact even Steve Gibson alluded to this as well in his comments about him so it wasn’t just the fans that had issues with him.

McClaren is ruthlessly ambitious and was willing to leave us for bigger clubs - If he told me grass was green, I'd have to check...Boro chief Gibson reveals some home truths

McClaren's last game in charge of the club was the 2006 UEFA Cup Final but Gibson told The Times that four years earlier he was ready to join Leeds. Newspaper stories had linked McClaren with the job so Gibson said: "I rang McClaren and I just knew from our telephone call that he was ready to go. He didn't know that he actually wasn't first choice at Leeds, Terry [Venables] was and we knew that. But that wasn't the only time he was going to jump ship, he was also prepared to go to Chelsea and Newcastle. "We're friendly enough now, we shake hands when we meet but he's never been back since he left and he's not on my Christmas card list. "And we never want to get into that situation again, I don't want a guy who is always thinking about the next rung on the ladder. "If Steve McClaren said to me the grass is green, I would go out and check. He can be charming but he had this streak of ambition that was absolutely bloody ruthless and you can't go through life always trying to achieve your ambitions at the expense of others. "He just saw us as a stepping stone and if you can make enemies at a club like ours, you're going to be in trouble when things go wrong. Having said that, he has something as a coach and a manager and I do believe he will come back. But managing England should be your last job, not your next job. Steve's ambition couldn't see that."

Yes you are right. He also never connected with the fans, had an affair with one of the staff and let the club down a bit when England manager with that umbrella performance, ex Boro frightened of a bit of rain at the match?

He didn’t connect with the fans at any club he’s been at did he?

Yeah he probably will feel a bit more job security too going there. If they go for him I think he would accept. His career is on an upwards trajectory that’s for sure
Yes I think he’ll go as less volatile owner and more realistic aims for the club.

The Greek shipping magnates will be ruthless. He could be gone by Xmas.

Definitely.

His stock at Forest is very very high, probably an all time high for him personally, and if Brighton give him the chance to leave Forest, he'd be daft not to jump! Brighton are a very well run club from top to bottom.

Forest are an accident waiting to happen and FFP (if there is such a thing...) is going to cripple them if they go down.

They should've used Fulham from 2/3 years ago as a great example of what not to do...

Totally agree. If he goes there I fully expect a 60 million bid for Morgan Gibbs White in January 🤣

Big game for them tonight, at home to Fulham. Such a huge investment in their squad, however I feel it would be VERY harsh to dismiss him after the wonders he worked last year.

I'd imagine Kieran and Steve are keeping an eye on that situation in their Wilder succession contingency plans.. (can't stomach the bloke personally, wouldn't want him as our manager).
Reminds me of when they sacked the Watford manager after he got them up a few seasons ago. Football owners, fans, press have no patience anymore
