STAY OFF THE PITCH

Look at me!!!!!!
It’s the same type of people who do it no matter which club it is.
It’s hard to watch. It gets proportionally worse with the age the perpetrator. Not much sadder than watching an obese, balding 40 something chasing down a player to grab and fondle 🤣

I did think that the net that the Luton stewards were holding in front of the fans at one point was a bit of a disaster waiting to happen mind.

There were no pitch invasions when we got to the UEFA Cup final so there need not be any tonight if we do get through to the final.

Yes; people don't really run on the pitch in a spontaneous outpouring of emotion. When the victory is sudden, they don't happen.

I can only think of one exception, one truly spontaneous pitch invasion: Watford vs Leicester, when they saved a penalty, went down the other end and scored.

Every other pitch invasion has been a premeditated exercise in making the moment about them and attention-seeking, as demonstrated by fans massing round the edge of the pitch in the last 5-10 minutes.

We certainly don't want to see disgraceful scenes like this invasion by a hooligan on a bike in Finland.

Whilst I agree with the sentiment, using TalkSport as justification to do anything is clutching. As a general rule I'd think/act/do the opposite of what they're advocating in almost all scenarios.

How?

You'll have to explain that one. I've been at grounds with countless pitch invasions and nobody has been harmed, nor have I seen intention to harm.

I know it's illegal but you'll have to explain that bit about risk?
If someone is injured on the pitch, hopefully, the Club will not be held responsible for the actions of the perpetrator. The pitch is out of bounds unless you have a valid reason, and being an ass hole ain't one of them. And the risk of a ban, especially Wembley should be enough of a deterrent, unless those who had another cell would be an amoeba.

Doesn't answer the question

Don’t you complete risk assessments in your line of work, plenty of risk, from climbing over barriers and hoardings, to collision, to even random acts of violence but also it stops the enjoyment for everybody else, nobody wants to see those clowns, they want to see the team.

Stopping the enjoyment is another argument, a modern one but relevant all the same.

Still not a risk to everyone.

We had fences at Ayresome Park for a reason. Did they stay in the Holgate and away end until the very end?

1995 seems like such a long time ago now!
