Starmer sacks shadow transport minister for appearing on picket line

Well of course it seems reasonable if you're just going to go on what he says about himself? He's hardly going to go on telly and declare himself dishonest and unprincipled?

Woodgate's a great manager, who sets teams up to play attacking, exciting football if you just go on what he says. Seems reasonable.

North Korea's a democratic peoples republic if you just go on what they call themselves. Seems reasonable.

Prince Andrew just went round Epsteins island to check how he was feeling, in between pizza express dinners if you just take his word for it. Seems reasonable.

I’m just telling you what he siad
It would be really easy to fact check if you want to tell us Starmer is telling lies

So if Labour were in government would they be allowed to visit picket lines to show solidarity?
I would expect them not too. I have no idea what you are driving at. In any event it doesn't address my points. He was told not to and went ahead anyway. He broke ranks. He had to go.

Some folks on this board don't live in the real world. You aint gonna get even close to everything you want because a political party have to have a larger appeal than fmttm to have any chance of enacting any change.

Then if this is new Labour I feel even more convinced that my decision to leave the party was correct. What you are describing is a drift to the right and a severing of ties with the working class, but Labour were formed by trade unionists for the working class.
I have always said that whilst some on here are happy with the least worst option, that isn't for me. There is a longer fight to be had and I am thinking more for my children or my children's children.

The windfall tax is a Liberal Democrat idea

“The Liberal Democrats first put forward the idea of a windfall tax on the profits of oil and gas companies”

I’m guessing you actually thought Starmer suggested the windfall tax 🤣
More laughing at people's opinions and views on here.

I'm detecting something of a nasty undercurrent on this thread and the other one.

Laugh away.

It's not a move to the right at all. It's called governing. Make your mind up and vote how you see fit. If the tories get in for another 5 years, you can always heat your house with integrity, I suppose.

He has spoken about it plenty of times, even in the Commons. Christ where do you think the Tories got their windfall tax idea from?

The criticism of Starmer is getting ridiculous now.

What do you want him to do, glue himself to a goalpost on Sunday?

It's getting a bit silly, I agree. The blinkers are well and truly on with some.

We get it, they don't like Starmer. Not sure why we need all these threads repeating the same old b***ks about it. Then they start posting how popular Corbyn was... yawn yawn yawn.

You don't mind dishing it out though, do you?
Not sure I've ever laughed at someone's political views or opinions. I've criticised often enough as have you. It's demeaning and comes across as people believing they have superior knowledge in some way when in reality they're just posting on a message board like everyone else is.

Well some probably do, don't they? Wouldn't it be a bonkers coincidence if we somehow all had the exact same level of knowledge as each other on here?

If you feel unwell you see a doctor cause you accept they have superior knowledge about health and medicine. You don't just ask the first person you see to diagnose you.

You complained of a nasty undercurrent but you yourself are no stranger to fishing for bites and trying to wind people up.

If Starmer's Labour get in, and we all receive our one off £600 rebate for energy bills, what will we heat our houses with the following year?
You could listen to what he said when asked about nationalising power companies. He would bring in legislation to control the spiraling costs.

Ridiculous analogy. I go to see the doctor for a medical diagnosis, not an opinion. And 99 times out of a 100 I'd get the same diagnosis. Politics is subjective and divisive. I enjoy a debate, I just don't take well to being patronised.

Go and find where I fish for bites or wind people up. Regardless, comparing that to nastiness and bullying is pathetic.
