Corbyn was hounded and lied about by the press, say his supporters (and I have some sympathy with that)
Starmer gets the same press treatment and those same Corbyn supporters decide they are now telling the truth.

Oh come on. Are you really, really going with Starmer gets the same press treatment as Corbyn? They've left him virtually unmolested for two years. What lies are they telling about him?
 
Back in reality the Labour party released the Forde Report last week. It showed that the party has a hierarchy of racism and that senior staff in the party hq really were sabotaging during the Corbyn years. And yet you'd never know. The press aren't interested. Starmer has an easier time with the press than any Labour leader in my lifetime.

You can't reason with these people mate. They just refuse to see it. It's the "centrist" way, and they say that we're the cultists, which is pretty hilarious. Most of them don't have a clue what they're talking about. They think that the Guardian is a left wing paper and they tie themselves in knots trying to defend the indefensible. They'll go on about pragmatism and compromise and party unity now, but they weren't doing that in 2017, were they? I'll never vote for Labour until they get rid of Starmer. If he lied to get elected on a continuity Corbyn platform and on those pledges that he's abandoned, then he'll lie about everything else. I want a left wing leader who I can trust and who actually believes in something. The Labour Party isn't The Labour Party at the moment, so they can stick it up their @rse.

Peter Oborne did a blog or some such thing on double down news I think it was on said report and he's a Tory for Chrissake.

I suppose I could have been more specific. By "the press" I mean the big papers and news channels that get a lot of readers and viewers. Not quite niche online news sites. Sky, BBC, Times, Telegraph, Mail, Sun, Independent, Guardian, etc etc etc.
 
I can confirm that BoroFur did do a poo through my letterbox yesterday, and that I have framed it and put it up on the wall in the garage. The thirsty ghost that drinks my booze seems to really like it.

I wasn't trying to take away, that the mainstream media have spectacularly ignored the Forde report. I was more trying to make the point that only a Tory journalist has highlighted many of the findings.

I must have missed your reply Laughing. Were you of that same opinion in 2017 or 2019? Did you vote Labour then? It's nice to know that I live in an ideal world that doesn't exist. For a second I thought that I had a Dad with dementia and a stressed out Mam and an ill brother to deal with but I must have dreamed all that. Thanks for putting me straight mate. I just want meaningful change. Corbyn would have given us that. Starmer never will.

We'll agree to disagree then mate. I'm just old fashioned Labour. I want a Labour Party that supports workers rights and doesn't crap on them. I don't do compromise mate. As others have said on this thread, it's called The Labour Party. The clue is in the name. Centrists don't seem to understand that.
 
Starmer's going to have fun over the next year. The RMT strike and the BT strike are just the beginning. Working people are going to feel a shed load of financial pain while the likes of Centrica rake in record profits. The public purse has been raided by private hands like never before. Serious discontent ahead I think.
I can't abide the likes of Starmer. He ain't the answer.

What has Starmer said regarding the reduction of worker rights? I can't remember him in any TV appearance calling for rights to be dumbed down but you may have seen different. Some links would be cool too.
