Mam needs a stair lift rather than the upheaval of moving to a bungalow...any decent recommendations for companies anyone has experienced who offer good quality kit at a reasonable price ?

Thanks in advance folks....

No recommendations but they're a total scam industry. You get offered new or used with used being a tiny discount, at the end of their use they offer to take them away for free (to offer again as used for a tiny discount).

my mum needed one and she passed away after just 3 months of it being installed and zero value apparently, tried selling it used eBay, fb etc but no takers, it's a total racket because you generally need it, but they make a fortune off it then resell to someone else.

you can rent rather than out right buy, as TFG just said in most cases, usage is normally for a short period whether the person goes in a home or passes away, sorry thats probably not what you want to hear.

Me Dad has had one for a couple of years now (so it isn't always a death warrant!). I can't remember who installed it but Ableworld in Stockton do the annual maintenance on it and would have been cheaper than the guys who did install. Very helpful people.

Ask adult social care of your local authority to do an occupational health assessment and they might recommend one is required fit one for you.
