Spanishman: Real Jaén contra El Ejido

Back to the footy for a moment.

Do either of you watch a lot? If so how? I´d like to watch a bit but don´t want to pay - I´m finding that I´m happy just reading reports fan reactions on FMTTM. I keep an eye on twitter as well while we are playing.

Do you go back often and ever go to a match? For me I go 3 or 4 times per year but have only been to one match since I moved to Spain which is 5 years as of yesterday.

What about Spanish football? Ever been to see any live?

I've got the season pass to watch Boro each week - £114 for the season I think it was - not cheap, but it's my guilty pleasure I suppose..

I usually work in the UK for 1 or 2 days a week, and try and get to see Boro if they've got a midweek match near where I am at the time, and that I can get a ticket for

Usually 1 or 2 family trips back to the UK each year, and try and arrange them for when Boro are at home

I first started going in 1966/67, and what with work situation (mainly at home for this contract), lack of family trips back, and then Covid, this will be the first time in 54 seasons that I haven't seen them live, which I find strangely upsetting ..... with my son rubbing it in that his "run" (19 seasons watching them live) is now longer than mine not helping :(

In Spain, I go quite regularly to see Malaga, and really enjoy it, though the emotional attachment isn't there like it is for Boro - the weather's better though

In terms of watching footy physically in Spain I got a season ticket for Almería this season. So I watched all the home matches until the league was put on hold.

I tend to go back to the UK once or twice a year. To visit family and friends. In 2015-2017 it was a little more often than that. As one of my brothers was diagnosed with cancer. Sadly he died in 2017.

I try to get to Boro home matches very occasionally. My last one was the Brighton promotion match. We were staying overnight in a hotel over the road from the town hall square. What a night!

I am not a great one for watching football on telly or the computer. I prefer to see it live or not at all.

If that's the Holiday Inn, we were in there that night as well :)
Well I never. We watched the mayhem in the square from the bar of the hotel. My wife and I were in the bar with another brother of mine (who still lives not too far away), my cousin and his friend.

After that we went for a walk around town. I have never seen so many drunk people in the Boro at the same time.

I´ve only been to one la Liga match. It was Sevilla against Atleti a couple of years ago.

Apart from that a few local Tercera 9 matches.

When I go back now its just seems so expensive to go to a match. Last time I went it was 30 for me and 17 each for the kids so 64 in total if I remember well. And since they aren´t bothered its hard to justify it.
