Southampton (A) Ticket Info 🎟️

not much to do in eastleigh nero. A few pubs, a Wetherspoons, can be lively of an evening, plenty of restaurants . i suppose its ideal after football if your not wanting to do anything. For a more cultural experience, Winchester is just 6 miles down the road
Sounds ideal for me reallly. It’s my and my 15 year old son, so more about getting some food after the match.

I was considering heading to Eastleigh first and leave the car, so I can have a couple of beers before kick off. Wait and see I suppose.

Final, final tickets released. We might well actually sell this out, which is amazing. Makes a truism of the thing where Boro fans see a game becoming an event and thing, I'll have some of that. Should be a fun day out.
We should get very close to the 2012 ( I counted) tickets that are on offer, we have sold about 130 today so far, they probably be online to midday Tuesday, and then collect or phone arrange to early Thursday, there is @ 450 left.

Which hotel are you staying in. The wetherspoons is across the road from the railway station. Which is probably the easiest way to get into Southampton. Then you can head up past the Mayflower theatre, good pub next door. Then head up to the High Street , i dont know if theres away fan pubs tho. About a 15 minute walk to St Marys from the station.
I think Eastleigh will be ideal. Easy train ride back, missing all the traffic, every chain restaurant you would need kfc, pizza etc etc , plus chinese and indian restaurants, plenty of pubs on the High Street.
As Red Wurzel says its a working class town, built around the railway industry back in the day. Plenty of geordies and makems moved down during its heyday. As with most northern towns its seen better days. Theres a good statue of Benny Hill as Ernie ( The Milkman ). :) Thats their claim to fame,
well that and the Spitfire !

Never been but Eastleigh does sound a solid working class area - old factories and a decent non league football club i.e not touristy.

Winchester is an ancient City - different world from Southampton. I have been to Winchester I went round two Military Museums one day and coudn't fit the third one in. The Royal Green Jackets Museum has a lovely model of the Battle of Waterloo.
The old capital of England before London. King Alfreds Statue, Did you get to see King Arthurs Round Table in the Guildhall. The Royal Oak, said to be the oldest pub in Britain, Old Saxon Walls on show in the lower level. Used to be full of squadies back in the day, Sadly much less lively than it used to be. I guess it a smaller version of York.

No, I didn't I think I only had 3 to 4 hours. We were passing through on last day of South Downs holiday.

The Cathedral/Abbey was closed for a private wedding too.

I agree smaller version of York.

Southampton was pretty ordinary when I went for a Boro game.

Staying at the Holiday Inn. The way you describe Eastleigh it does sound absolutely bang on. My son is a fussy eater but if there’s pizza he is sorted. Like the idea of missing the traffic using the train too.
