Songs that never came over from Ayresome Park to the Riverside

Chick chick chick chick chicken George
Roots roots roots to the tune of shoot
for Clyde Best etc.

Skinheads, skinheads everywhere got big boots and they got no hair
Is it hot or is it cold?

Can't remember the rest..

They used to sing 'Howay the lads howay the lads the lads howay' - sometimes a few would sing to the same tune 'they're Geordie songs...' etc

The Laurel and Hardy theme tune when police walked past

I don't know what came over me (alcohol probably) but I whistled it when passing a few coppers late one evening after being in the town. I was given a load of verbal abuse by them - but nothing else!!

I remember when after a bald physio had treated an injured player they were singing to the 'Brown Girl In The Ring' tune 'Baldy on the bench la la la la la, there's a baldy on the bench la la la la la la'
The next time he'd come on they sang it as he went past The Holgate they sang it and he jokingly put his kitbag on top of his head
