So Why did we sign Uche

As you buy a player like him to do a certain job and fit a certain role to play a certain style with key players in to fit the model.

he’s not an impact player and never will be.

so why did we buy him just to discard him.

I do agree with you.....we were scouring the market looking for a big target man all Summer. A player to hold the ball up and bring others into play. Warnock said he was desperate for a Keiffer Moore type.

So we gets one in Uche and our pre season was all based on playing off and around him with the likes of Tav and Watmore. He starts really well and scores a couple of goals. I was looking forward to seeing how things developed.
Then we sign Sporar who is a completely different sort of player. He plays off the shoulder and prefers the ball played into space and in front of him The whole master plan seems to have gone out of the window ?

If ever there was a game to play Uche and go a bit more direct given the conditions it was today. I don't understand....

There's been something not right all season
He started well enough, but hasn't lasted more than 70 minutes in any game. Was dropped, and been criticized too
Last week at Reading it seemed that if we were allowed to make 11 substitutions he'd be the 12th one in line

Warnock said weeks ago that he was signed as 2nd or 3rd choice. He gives us something different and arguably what we needed last season when we're asking Britt/Fletcher and Akpom to play that role.

I means he's done well considering what he cost etc. Yet he's 26 and his best scoring season is 6.....i doubt anyone saw him as first choice No9.

13 league goals is his best season.

When I think back to our earlier games this season (when we had Crooks and Uche up front) it felt like it had all the hallmarks of a Warnock side.

I'm not saying the performances were excellent, but we were effective and I could see what we were trying to do. I remember at the time thinking, with the addition of a decent holding midfielder and winger we could potentially have a good side here.

I actually saw Uche as potentially being our first choice no 9. He's not going to score you 20+ goals a season, but I remember saying that if he can enable us to play the way Warnock wants us to play, then his contribution to the team will prove to be invaluable.

I find it a bit bizarre that we've signed Sporar, when he's a player who wants to play on the shoulder, and for the ball to be played in behind. Even on Tuesday night, although Sporar and Watmore up front worked, I was bemused at Warnock going with those two as a pairing. I remember thinking to myself pre-match, surely if he's going to go with 2 up front he's going to go with Uche and one of either Watmore or Sporar.

I don't know if maybe I've misunderstood Warnock but it's as if he's going against what he believes in and is having his strings pulled.

uche is not the problem warnock is,uche is ,if anything,a little better than i,or most people thought.hes done quite well so far,a bit rough round the edges, but a more than good enough player for the position we are in,its the manager that is the problem, its everyone elses fault when things go wrong exept himself

A manager that doesnt manage the way he wants to isn't worth being there if that were true. I dont believe it is true. I just think he has run out of ideas.

Reality is though, watmore and Sporar, are better players and Warnock has watched them in training and decided he has to give sporar a chance because he has quality and because we all know watmore has quality,
Unche was ultimately bought as a squad player although Warnock wouldn’t admit that we should all acknowledge it as sad but true
He had his chance and didn’t offer enough to stop Warnock from dropping him

Did he I’d not heard that
"Then again Uche in my eyes was going to be second or third choice in that area but at the moment he’s the only one that’s fit and available"

Yup he said it😂. I only googled it to confirm I'd not imagined it. I mean he says things about most players.

Is he injured? Does he gas out? As mentioned he seems dead after 60 minutes and hasn't been used in quite a few games where I expected he would be.

I also wondered why he didn't warm up at half time yesterday either? I assumed, (wrongly) that he was coming on after the break, but he didn't.

He’s a cart horse
Disagree, he can hold the ball up and very difficult to knock him off it when he has it. He's pretty skilful for a big man also and wins plenty of free kicks.
Thought that's what we've been crying out for a focal point up top ?
I'd be playing 4231 or 4141 with Uche in the side....
