Does everyone forget the last 48hrs ever happened and shuffle it under the door mat?

punish the big 6 with point deductions for bringing the game into disrepute?

fine them?

personally I think they should be banned from the champions league and europa league next year

I’d also have all six starting on -15 points next season

I imagine that's exactly what will happen. These 'elite' will be drafting grovelling apologys and saying that they were never going to leave.

It will all be forgotten come next season. No sanctions whatsoever😕

I have absolutely no doubt they will he already looking for an 'alternative' payday.

No they'll make out they had no intentions of breaking away, tradition etc, etc & make out that they're the good guys in all this & oh BTW because we've saved the PL can we have a bigger slice of the cake, bigger than before because we*re more important

Various execs will resign. The Glazers and FSG will look to sell (probably to equally unscrupulous types). Levy will slink off. Laporta will claim the Barca socios didn't want to join the ESL anyway to save his skin. And UEFA will fix the CL so PSG win ;)

The governing bodies will back away from the whole thing now it has fallen apart and the dirty dozen will go completely unpunished and unsanctioned by FIFA, UEFA, and their respective FA's.

They must not be allowed to get away with it and the punishment must be heavy and meaningful. For me they should be told to F off you’re not coming back. Sadly I doubt that’ll happen, but it should. It’s treason ffs; you shouldn’t get away with that.

And a bigger slice of any future talks

At the very least, the clubs will be sued for breach of contract by the people behind the European Super League. I imagine they’ve all signed up to it, and ironically they may end up being punished, not by UEFA but by the very people that the clubs had signed up for.

That’s what I was thinking, how easy will it be for them to retract from this ESL that they have signed up for?

I've just been reading that Barca seemingly introduced a clause into their agreement that would have put the matter for a vote to their club members and would allow them to leave if they went against the new league, so it may well be they can escape any such punishment for reneging on an agreement.

I wonder if the other 4 English clubs will hold back for now, in the hope that the idea is quickly abandoned and they won’t get sued for reneging. Chelsea and City have by far the richest owners that could easily swallow being sued.

That’s interesting I wonder if all the clubs have that arrangement.

I would probably think they all included some sort of legal mechanism that allowed them to leave within a certain time frame. Although in Perez's interview last night, he seemed very confident of the whole thing going ahead and very sure that there was no way for the 12 clubs to abandon it.
