So many Potholes

Not seen the roads in such a bad state post Winter for ages. Potholes everywhere. All ready had one cracked alloy and find that you are looking at the road surface more rather than as far ahead as possible. Perhaps if the Council had to pay for repairs to cars then things might get repaired sooner.

Pointless blaming councils, point the finger at Central Government.

When I cycled to work and the Tory cuts were biting, my local council used to switch the lights off on the B-class roads at 10pm [to save electricity!]
There were enormous potholes and cracks in road surfaces that I would regularly find the bike hitting, because you couldn't see them all, even with a strong front light. It was [still is] like living in the "dark ages". If you don't invest and upkeep the infrastructure, we get what we all experience today. Now what was all that crap about reducing debt by cutting public spending.....

Infrastructure pays for itself too.

Is it post winter.

Instead of moaning about it why don't you do something about it and vote for a party with a plan ?

That’s the thing though. It isn’t about party politics. Local authorities are responsible for roads (unless major routes) and they’ve had their budgets gutted by the scum Tories.

Potholes are the visual representation of austerity. Fund councils properly and things like road maintenance will be back again.

I will look forward to that happening after the next election and the potholes get repaired 👍

Lights on B-Roads? Very extravagant.
Whereabouts is that?
