Six nations super Saturday

They have had a few key personnel leave them because of financial issues. The biggest loss was Beauden Barrett to the Blues and T J Perenara to Japan. Also the coach Plumtree left as well to become ABs forward coach. Not good for Wellington
Despite coming from the SI I'm a Hurricanes fan (all the kids live in Welly), so not a good season. Was even shouting for the Blues yesterday as well!!!

Great game between France v Wales, they are going to be very strong in the WC, and the team to beat. Think we might get quarter finals, maybe semi if possible. I have little faith in Ian Foster tbh.

I have just read this on the BBC regarding Fabien Galthie saying the Welsh players got Willemse sent off. I think he needs to look at the vide evidence of Willemse fingers in the Welsh players eye. You just cannot defend that.

From the BBC - Coach Fabien Galthie accused Welsh players of getting France second row Paul Willemse sent off during the dramatic 32-30 Six Nations win in Paris.

Referee Luke Pearce brandished the red card in the 68th minute after it was adjudged Willemse made contact with the eyes of Wales prop Wyn Jones.
Galthie disagreed with the decision.

"If you watch the Wales players, it feels like they specialise in making sure opponents get red cards," he said.

"Their body language is quite clear, I hope the referees take that into consideration. I don't think he deserves a sanction.

I'm not sure about that. The Welsh lads come across as decent and I doubt it's deliberate. Wales have benefited this Championship from marginal decisions though. To me it looked like one try against France was held up.

And as I said in my post, there is clear video evidence of Willemstad with his fingers poking into the Welsh players eye.

It's an interesting accusation though. It is suspicious that so many red cards are given for their opposing teams.

It must be. Other coaches will notice the marginal and wrong decisions going in Wales favour.
Other coaches will now know the TMO is not letting their teams get away with serious foul play any more.

Scotland's red was marginal, two tries against England wrong, a try against France held up.
So there is a conspiracy where England refs and England TMO want Wales to win? France ref wants Wales to win?

England had a dreadful 6 Nations; Wales didn't.

England have been awful no doubt. Wales have not been as good as suggested though. The Ireland and Scotland games could have gone the other way quite easily.

Why do Wales fans always resort to the England bashing. It's so tiring. Hence why I didn't want them to win the grand slam.

The fact is Wales have either had favourable refereeing decisions or a man sent off against them in every match except Italy. Makes you think.

Your conspiracy rubbish was pathetic and somehow you aren't a Wales basher? Which your post confirms.

Against France, the penalty try not given. The forward pass leading to the third try. Sometimes decisions don't go your way.

Wales have managed to score 20 tries, something they've never done before. Under Gatland, this squad would have been more successful but no where near as entertaining. England under Jones are the worst of all worlds.

This is isn't about England and their performances. I'm not saying it's right but it is curious that the really big decisions have all gone for Wales this season

I notice Pivac complaining about that penalty try decision. England refused to blame two shocking decisions against Wales though.

I noticed worse than that from the England captain on the field.

“They're huge decisions, we can't debate it, we are not allowed to debate it,” said Jones after the match. “All I will end up with is a fine and that won't help anyone. The dog won't be able to eat its food, the wife won't be able to eat, so I can't say anything."

All Pivac commented on was what the ref debated on the field:

For us to go ahead 27-20 with 20-odd minutes to go and then there was a major point for us. I thought we got a fantastic drive going and there was a yellow card. For me, I was expecting a bit more than a yellow card, I thought maybe a penalty try but it wasn’t given.

Fair enough Bear. I was actually cheering on Wales on Saturday. I just think a Grand Slam wouldn't have been deserved as the other four since 2005.

It's not easy to win a grand slam with three away matches. They had one lucky refereeing decision against England two grand slams ago that went our way. Fine margins.

I thought Saturday was as good a 6 nations game that I can remember . . . in spite of the result!

Pathetic isn't it? They'll likely be 6N champs and completely undeserved and the French will miss out for a second year despite arguably being the better team.
