You're pushing it a bit here mate. I think that MPs are fair game for abuse on here but you can't go labelling all Tory voters scum. I'm repeating myself here, I know, but that just seems like a step too far to me.

Not to me, they have been caught out for being corrupt, thieving, racist liars and yet people still vote for them. It beggars belief and it’s unforgivable in my eyes now. If you can go to the ballot at the next election and tick Tory then you are enabling all of the above and are culpable.

I agree with you about The Tory Party, but I can't see my uncle and my aunt, or some of the best posters on here who vote that way as scum. Misguided? Yep. Scum? No. I'll save my insults for the politicians themselves, not my family, or other posters on here.

Before Covid we would have been on the same page but it goes beyond that now. How anyone can vote for these schysters is incredible.
 
Voter apathy benefits the powerful.

First you instil fear in the people.
Then you demoralise them.
Then you have control of them.

The few oligarchs who own and control the big media will always propagandise in their favour and present it to the public as a fait accompli.
Demonise dissent and marginalise challengers to the status quo.
Paint dissent as the "enemy".
People will retreat to their fears and squalor to protect themselves.
People vote Tory, Labour, Brexit, Green, UKip - but none of them is a threat to the status quo.
Those who vote Conservative arent "scum" but many are fearful and believe the propaganda - becuase they dont know what is propaganda.
Better the devil you know......

The powerful benefit from keeping the public misinformed and disinformed.
A dissempowered people is a subservient people.

Can't disagree with any of that roofie. I'm just not comfortable with some of the language on here that is making valued posters feel unwelcome.

I concur with your sentiments entirely.
Calling people "scum" doesnt bring people around to anyones way of thinking.
It benefits the powerful, because it alienates people even further.
By labelling someone as "scum" or any other abusive terms [unless its an out an out racist - imo] it pushes them back into the arms of the establishment.
In effect - it does the Tories recruitment job for them:mad:
 
At the risk of repeating myself, from previous posts you attract more flies with honey than you do with vinegar. Having said that, this particular incarnation of Tories and some of their supporters, make it more difficult to carry on believing that.

As I've said three times now. I don't agree with hunting.

As per usual Randy's post has been twisted into an attack on Randy. Par for the course these days isn't?

Stemmed from a post saying they hunt a decoy. As far as I'm aware hunting foxes is still illegal in this country isn't it? I innocently commented that the 'hunt' brought people into the village, even going as far to say as these people would have come anyways like they do on new year's day up here for the joggers who run up to Roseberry Topping and back.

It’s not an attack on you, certainly not from me anyway, but your posts seem to be half justifying it because it brought people to the area

In theory it is illegal but they have plenty of loopholes to get away with it

Randy knows that I don't trust him with any of my bits when he has access to fire. If he's out of the kitchen and he doesn't have any matches or a lighter on him then I probably would be happy to show him my balls.
