I remember the t.v.ad 'John Collier, John Collier, the window to watch.'John Colliers
Does he still play squash ?See Alan fairly regularly as he lives just round the corner from me. He’s in his 80s but is still in good shape.
No he doesn’t, as far as I know. He spends a lot of time in the garden and with his grandkids. He still watches the Boro on the tv and still has some records, though he has sold most of his vast collection. He resolutely refuses to stream music.Does he still play squash ?
Shoulders.Go on then - I'll ask. What did Chipsworld sell?
Norris’s was the one near to Tesco. What was the other sweet shop (the one near the Tesco) called? And what was the furniture shop in Normanby named? (the one in the old cinema).
Ross's was the school wear shop. There was also Young Yorkshire on the other side of Borough Road which sold kids clothesWhat was the name of the shop nearish Jack Hatfield's that used to sell uniforms etc ? I remember getting carted down there to get a load of merchant navy uniform when I started my cadetship.
Don't recognise this shop - where was it? I remember Chips being upstairs above a shop on Linthorpe Rd in the late 80s. My Grandma worked in a bridal wear shop on the corner of Linthorpe Rd and King Edward's Rd and Chips was opposite, so I used to go in to see her and then pop over the road to buy Amstrad and later Amiga games.
I never included Walter Baker’s due to Beavers Furniture Shop taking over. Beavers is a good little company with stores in Scarborough.
Bought some t shirts at C&A last summerC & a, the blight of my Saturday morning when we would go into Middlesbrough to see my Nan and family and I’d have to walk round with mam and dad.
Actually, it’s a toss up between c&a and the light section in BHS
