Sheffield United

I'd like to see Ben White go to the Euros but was the reason why he went home early from the world cup ever confirmed?

Seems a shame as he's a quality player.
I don't think he enjoys being away from home when there's only a small chance of him playing. His perogative I suppose.

I’ve mentioned on here that I have a friend who plays for Gateshead, used to play for Maidstone. He is good friends with Aaron Ramsdale from their younger days and he said White had told Ramsdale he was sent home because he didn’t want to do Steve Holland’s video analysis sessions. Apparently he said he doesn’t do individual video sessions with Arsenal so doesn’t need to do them with England. Southgate said if you don’t want to do the work then you will be sent home. And so home he came.

Very strange attitude.

The friend who told and, and me as he was telling me, were saying it felt very strange because surely video analysis is part of how Arsenal work and prepare for games. You would imagine Arteta would be big on it. Maybe there was more or less to it, or it was just a red herring from White to cover something else. Who knows. It’s very strange though. On merit he would be in the England team, not just the squad.

Ahead of Walker?

I don't think Kyle has been as good as he has been this season, he's getting on and will need some more serious competition sooner rather than later. You would think James would be his natural successor if he's ever fit for more than a fortnight like.

Have Arsenal played White at centre back at all in the last two seasons?

I think you could play Walker and White together, with Stones and Shaw. Perhaps even keep Maguire in there and have White or Stones coming into midfield with Rice. I think players as good as that can play together. And I think White played at centre back for Brighton for the full season before Arsenal paid the £50m.

Surely more to it than that? Since it happened he’s had a fight with loads of England players. Foden. Walker etc

Yeah could well be, it’s an odd situation. The way it was reported he had left the squad at first and then now, where it’s still barely mentioned? A top class player like that, you would think his lack of call-ups would be questioned more but who knows.

Yeah. Media seem silent about it. He famously hates football. Maybe Southgate doesn’t like that 😂

Like Benoit Assou-Ekotto, who famously hated football to the point where he didn’t know who Tottenham were playing or which competition it was until the warm-up, and apparently sometimes not even until after the game had finished. He just made sure he was at work on time.

Wonder if any fan has bought a Blades “Early Bird” ticket yet?
Haven't released them yet unsurprisingly. Their 23/24 ticket pricing was pretty reasonable though for PL football. This is their phase 2 pricing so presumably there was a cheaper price available before this as well.

White would definitely answer that problem at CB for England.

Even at the start of the season, when Timber was fit for Arsenal...it was Gabriel who was dropped for Arsenal and White played.

As for Sheff Utd, shame it wasn't 7-0 or 8-0....the more goals they get pummelled by, whilst having that Grade A t*t manage them, the better.

21 goals conceded in last 4 home games?

What a CV!

Chris Wilder on The Sports Bar next ..

'We made it easy for Arsenal'

'When people talk about managers taking responsibility that's the least I can do' (he's clearly learnt from throwing some of our players under the bus)

'When you go down in the game that early, it really does put you on the backfoot'

'We tried to replicate the performance we had against Liverpool'

'It cant continue, we have to be better defensively and try and get the balance right'

'From an injury point of view we are suffering'

'totally understand people streaming out whenever that was'

Let’s fa e it if we had somehow have come through the playoffs and got promoted last season this could well have been happening to us. The abject misery that Burnley and Blades fans are going through is palpable. The gap is massive yes. But it’s getting wider.

BBC Website says:
5-0 up after 39 minutes - the earliest that score had been achieved in Premier League history.
The first side in English league football (I'm assuming it means this season) to lose three consecutive home league games by at least a five goal margin.
The fourth time this season that they've lost a home game by at least five goals, becoming the first in a top flight season to do so.

Not quite Derby levels of goal difference, but there's still a few weeks to go
