He was ok last night. If anything I think he sided with us in 50/50s
Didn't the Swansea player, think it was cabango, get a straight red for that this season? or was it a second yellow?Missed what looked like a definite pen for them.
Have the rules changed re: players raising their hands to one another? I feel like years ago their player judo throwing Steffen from behind would have been a red.
We didn't waste that much time!Thought he was poor when it came to blatant time wasting.
VAR would not have overturned that challenge by Chuba, the guy ran into him and crumpled looking for a foul that never was
Spot on, who knows what the VAR jockey would have done, they produce error after error.I agree it wasn't a foul, but we'd still have had the nervous wait whist they reviewed it, instead of just enjoying celebrating the goal.
You're also assuming VAR would have made the right decision, they often don't!
yes he could have easily given a pen, cancelled out chubas goal for a foul and given a red to Lenighan for the elbow on Tuanzebe if he was a bent ref. Not that any of those were those things mind, but he had the opportunity to give all of those. No complaints from me.It wasn't a dirty game and we did our fair share of using our arms and bodies to block players.
The challenge in the box went with us, could have gone either way, it wasn't clear cut.
Akpom's challenge on Pearson for the goal was allowed, so why not similar challenges from their players?
The spotlight certainly shouldn't be on the ref.
agreed, Ramsay slips and the stoke players steps into him. I'd have given a yellow to Gayle for simulation as well when he was asking for a pen.Watched the highlights just there, there is no chance that it was a penalty for them, the Stoke player actually barged in to Ramsey to try and create contact.
The referee got it spot on.
Laurent stepped across to protect the ball which he is entirely entitled to do. Ramsey foolishly dives off his feet in the box (and admittedly tried to pull out albeit too late) and traps Laurents ankle. That's a pen all day. Would've got it had the game been at Stoke.agreed, Ramsay slips and the stoke players steps into him. I'd have given a yellow to Gayle for simulation as well when he was asking for a pen.
That's the worst interpretation of that incident that i've seen yet.It wasn't too late because he didn't tackle him.
After being dragged back away from the ball by Laurent, Ramsey pulled out of an attempted slide, Laurent then stuck a leg out to try and make contact with him, didn't get anything but a gentle flicker of a toe on his shin at best and then flung himself theatrically.
It wasn't a penalty.

It probably wouldn't. But you wouldn't know that for a minute or two would you.VAR would not have overturned that challenge by Chuba, the guy ran into him and crumpled looking for a foul that never was
Spot on summary of itThat's exactly what happened.
The incident isn't even mentioned in the match reports of Sky or the BBC, or their live feed coverage of the match, which says it all about how much of a penalty it was.
It's in the 10 minute iFollow highlights of the match, with the neutral commentator saying "Ah, I don't think there's not enough in that".

Laurent at no point was in control of the ball, and at no point was he protecting it, he was behind Ramsey who himself was shielding it, pulled him out of the way and then flung himself to the floor.

That third picture is the extent of the "contact".
maybe, so we would have got to celebrate twice, with a bit of worry in the middle...so three times the drama, and that's why we go to footballIt probably wouldn't. But you wouldn't know that for a minute or two would you.
To counter the sky commentator, Maddo on iFollow said it was a penalty, infinite are the arguments of mages. That's exactly what happened.
