No, we beat them home and away that season.

In the 05/06 season when they got 15 points, they did win at the Riverside (Arca scored), but we won at their place.

I don't think Sunderland have beaten us home and away in my (30+) years following Boro. I think we've beaten them twice for every time they've beaten us in that time.

Edit: not quite. 17 wins to 9 defeats going back to '89. They've been our bunnies though, and we've done the double over them 4 times in those years.

They've only beaten us once in any cup competition in my lifetime & that was in extra time at the Riverside & I'm now 60
