Shaving cuts

Any good tips for stemming the flow?

Styptic pencils were a thing when I was a kid, do they still exist/ work? Obviously that won’t help right now 🩸

Aftershave containing alcohol in it, will sting a bit but do it good then apply pressure with a tissue for a while.

Alcohol acts as an astringent and helps to constrict blood vessels.

Just out of interest, are we talking double edged shaving here?
Old fashioned single blade yes, took it up a about five years ago after reading on here. Actually cut very rarely compared to’Gilette 2 blade/ 3 blade /4 blade‘ etc but if I do cut it’s a slice, usually through carelessness as tonight, I’d shaved and for some reason my hand went back and sliced my chin without checking with me first 🙄

Just grow a beard mate. That's what I've done during lockdown. I just wish that it was the same colour as the hair on my head but you can't have everything your own way I suppose. Makes it easier to pretend that you're still young if you can't really see most of the lines and the wrinkles on your face anymore.

These are handy to have at hand

Thanks lads, ordered a pack of these to try. I do remember from my youth styptic stuff stings like buggery but it’s worth a go....

I’ve tried the beard, had it for a few years and then obviously the shaved face, I’m about 50/50 Mrs prefers the beard. Maybe I should do beard for winter plumage and shaved for summer 🤔

I'm pleased that neither yourself or Boro Legend felt the need to ridicule me for being a bum faced man with a beard. I was expecting to get pelters for that. I'd give it another go if I were you mate. It'll save you a lot of grief and probably a lot of blood loss too by the sounds of things you clumsy sod.

I only slice myself open about once every nine months or so and blood letting is a thing in some cultures.

So is bumface short for bumfluff face 😉

I've got a proper Brian Blessed style beard going on right now. Completely grey though, even though the hair on my head is still dark. The dog barely recognises me these days. I wouldn't get too involved in that whole idea of blood sacrifice if I were you fella. I've seen where that can lead and it isn't pretty.
