On moorland north of Danby Beacon are some good examples of 'double embanked pit alignments'. These bronze age monuments are thought to be either tribal boundaries or of ritual significance (i.e. archaeologists haven't got a clue). The 'big lumps' in the image are bronze age burial mounds and the 4 craters are bomb craters from WW2

The body of a Native American, Moses Carpenter, is buried in Linthorpe Cemetery.
Carpenter was a member of the Mohawk tribe and was born in Ontario, Canada in 1854; his birth name was Ska-Run-Ya-Te.
In 1889, he visited Middlesbrough as part of a travelling show, where he tragically died of a fever.

Not sure it's an interesting fact but why is orange jam called marmalade?

The word "marmalade" is borrowed from the Portuguese marmelada, from marmelo 'quince'.

Unlike jam, a large quantity of water is added to the fruit in a marmalade, the extra liquid being set by the high-pectin content of the fruit. In this respect it is like a jelly, but whereas the fruit pulp and peel is strained out of a jelly to give it its characteristic clarity, it is retained in a marmalade.
