I think his heart is in the right place - "the club needs promotion" etc

However I don't think he's a natural interviewer.

I think the questions were terrible and put him on the back foot. Why ask "how did the move come about?". Like he said, Boro and QPR made an agreement, it's a pretty standard procedure.

It was the same when the lad interviewed Carrick in Portugal. He asked him individually about six or seven of the new signings. Carrick just ended up having to repeat himself about trying to bring out the potential in them.

It seems it's an interview for the sake of it rather than really wanting to find stuff out.

I thought he seemed quite calm during the interview - might be looking too much into it but I don't mind that as a characteristic for our No.1.
