Secure Dog Walking Fields

We have a 16 week old pup who really needs to have a good run off the lead. We are still working on recall so need somewhere relatively secure. I'm aware of the commercial options but really need somewhere we could use regularly. Based in Hartburn, Stockton, any help/Tips really appreciated, thanks.

it depends how far you want to go. I know of a couple in Kirklevington, but it's a bit out the way for you

We bought a 10m long recall lead which is pretty useful if you're not anywhere secure

there one in kirklevington Kirkwoody , which will be ideal i havent used it myself yet but its enclosed, and they insist you show your dog is up with all jabs before you can use it so it should be safe.

Are you familiar with the ecology park at billingham bottoms? There is a field within that area which is enclosed and always empty. Well, I think I;ve seen one man and his dog in there once doing some recall training.
I can give you a detailed description of how to find it if you like.

Thanks Guys, we are going to check Preston Park this afternoon (y). Yes please Big Al I'd appreciate that.

Preston Park has a field that is secure and often has no one in it.
I'm not sure that it's 100% secure though is it? I mean theres gaps in the gate etc, the fully secure fields are 100% secure.
It's also open to anyone coming in, whereas the others you can book a slot and know it's just you there.
It's still a good option though, we have used it

Have used Preston Park quite a few times...good way of socialising your puppy when other dogs are in as well.

Park in the car park and follow the path parallel to the wolviston road. Then take a right and follow the red dotted path the the entrance to the field. Field is highlighted in green.

Glad you're enjoying your new pupper. It's so satisfying to see them running around enjoying themselves isnt it.

Our Lab was very nervous for a few months in the car. Once he realised that not every car journey ends at the vets, he's been much better.

When she's a bit older and you're more confident with her off the lead - The North Gare is brilliant for dogs. Lots of other dogs there too so she can get socialised. We take 'Red' there regularly.

She is getting a little better in the car, still nervy and salivating +++ but not vomiting as much so that's progress 😁

Just a thought with you being based in Hartburn.
I know it's not a designated 'dog area', but the tennis courts in ropner park are quite often left unlocked overnight.
Early mornings (7am ish), not many people about, it's totally secure once you shut the gate
