Second teams

Just realised with this season I have probably watched more swindon than Boro games live in the last 20 years. Who is everyone's second favourite team and do you feel bad cheering them on? Robins are a fairly inoffensive team tbh and I loved getting Fjortoft off them. Also had the benefit of seeing Boro legend Williams Kokolo smash a banger into the town end goal last week

Don’t have one.

The most likely contenders would be…

Gateshead - My grandad played for them.

Malmo - Me and my mates had one of our best ever lad’s holiday píss-ups with a load of lads from there.

But, I can’t even force myself to be bothered about their results.

It used to be Dulwich Hamlet, but as they played Saturdays it meant I couldn't really listen to Boro games. Then I discovered the joys of Dulwich Hamlet Ladies. They play on Sunday, attract a very friendly crowd and I haven't seen them lose yet. That will all change next season when they are promoted.

Stockport County.

Been living down here for 24 years, used to work with a couple of lads who were long standing ST holders, good footy craic👍
Started following them in National League North when they were getting 2500 fans turning up.....now 10k moving into League 1.

Started taking my son when he was getting into footy a few years ago - couldn't grumble £5 entry and takes us about 15 mins to leave the house and get to the ground.

Just don't get any real emotion seeing them get beat, just a meh.

Proper club proper fans, almost destroyed by a d*ckhead new owner. Be very careful what you wish for........

Been an Arsenal fan for almost 33 years, fell in love with them after forgetting my P.E kit in primary school, being made to wear something from the "lost property" box and pulling out an 89/90 Arsenal home shirt.

Wore it to play football and we won so it became my "lucky shirt" to play football in. David Seaman became my role model as my position was usually goalkeeper.

Caused a minor issue (for my dad) when we played Arsenal at Ayresome Park in the inaugural Premier League season on a warm day in April and I was wearing my Arsenal top under my Boro top. Obviously as a 10 year old I was oblivious to the effect me removing my Boro shirt to unveil the opposition's shirt would have on my fellow Boro supporters.

Luckily we were sitting in the South stand at the time, probably would have been lynched had we been stood in the Holgate!

(Also the fact we were winning 1-0 at the time probably helped!)

Got a few but don’t need judging for it! Stockton. Angers in France, in-laws have a place close by. Genoa, sister used to work there. Cosenza, read a really good book about them.

None.

I like to see County do well, but in truth if they got relegated next season I wouldn’t give it a second thought.

I seem to have a load of friends round here who all say they support one team but very clearly support another.

I don't like Swindon but can't remember why.
It might be the Calderwood/Kernaghan incident that almost derailed Lennie's promotion charge. Followed up by the Calderwood/Karanka incident that soured Karanka's promotion celebrations.

Or it might just be because of Hoddle's manager voice.

Which County?
Derby, Stockport, Notts, Rotherham or Newport?
A.N. Other? (Can't think of anymore).

When I was younger, I used to like to go and watch Spurs play if they were playing one of the North East top three. It was easy to get tickets for games then and very little segregation.

Do you live near Swindon, despite my name which I changed a few years ago when I spent some time in Devon. I have lived in Swindon for 30 years. It would be nice to know if there are some other fans nearby.
