Season ticket sales next season

I think we'll lose a lot of supporters this coming season. We did exceptionally we'll to sell around 22k season tickets for this season. There was a lot of hope that after a very entertaining season last year that this season would be similar but its been dreadful.

My guess would be ST sales of around 16k.

Season ticket sales will be well down, 15-16k? But what is even more worrying is the very high walk up prices…how do you attract more fans through the door? The price hike and the initial crazy dead line have caused a disconnect between club and fans..it’s been an awful few months for the club.

I’m finding it hard to motivate myself to renew for a number of reasons.

I will still get to plenty of games even with the big walk up prices, the money isn’t the biggest factor but has had a bearing on my thought process.

Having the ability to pick and choose without committing to 23 matches suits me more now.

The day i give up my season card is the day i stop attending the Riverside

Not a chance I would pay walkup prices. You stick by your team (like we did towards the end of the Southgate/Strachan/Mowbray when he didn't have a pot to pee in eras) in the hope the good times will come again which they did eventually.

Its taken a long time to get the home gates to the sizes we have the last couple of seasons. It will be heartbreaking to see masses of empty red seats again at the Riverside, but we haven't all got MUG written on our heads and financially there has to be breaking point where enough is enough.

We were getting beat regularly under Strachan and his post match press conferences were something else when grilled by the media

The club done brilliantly to build the crowds back up and they've thrown it all away due to their incompetence
Exactly, if the prices weren’t so high we could have almost sold out season tickets off the back of last year.

Dread to think what the number could be this season. But it’s nothing more than Gibson deserves sadly

A bad run of injuries can knock 6,000 season ticket holders back enough not to renew?
I'm just taking a guess but bare in mind that season ticket sales of 22k are not normal. There was a very high uptake last season and even if everything was rosey we may not have maintained that. Now following a number of disasters both on and off the pitch I think its likely we are going to lose quite a few ST holders.

Even if you make 15 games its still only the same price as the early bird renewal. Write off the mid-week winter games and the games people usually miss due to a holiday/wedding/christening you aren't actually missing out. Apart from points for desirable away games, Sunderland & Leeds is about it you can go to every home game, 85% away games, cup games and finals.

But its not just the injuries. Which have been unbelievable throughout the season but what is putting a lot off is the way those actually playing are performing. Once we went a goal down on Saturday you knew we were beat. Add to that the lack of investment in January(and not getting a striker in August). Also the club seemed to have given up this season by the beginning of February so is it any wonder people are thinking about not renewing. I will renew but after Saturday that will be my last away game this season and not really looking forward to going to the Norwich match on Wednesday. Could just as easy stay home and watch it. Not felt like this in a long time.

I think the renewals before end of March will drop dramatically..
Then the Club will have a decision to make.
Accept it, or back track and change the deadline and /or drop the Price increase/ or offer free Cup Games.

I think the club need some quality reinforcements in early doors to get the fans back on side again. A real statement of intent that we intend to properly go for it next season
