Sean Longstaff hang your head in shame

Unless I missed it I don't think any of the pundits mentioned the disgraceful play acting.

They should be calling out that sort of behaviour but they don't because they see getting an opponent sent off as "clever play".

How can the pundits call them out for play acting when they have all done it themselves - and I say that without even knowing who is on the panel.

But there lies the problem, they don't want to upset anyone & just play it safe by describing things happening around

There was a discussion the other day regarding why they are falling out of love with football, these incidents are a big example

I remember a few years back playing Everton at home in the league Cup & George went in on their player Deulofeu who screemed out loud & went down as George approached him & won the free kick

The fact they completely ignored the incident adds to the problem. The you g man should be shamed and called out for it.

Football has been GETTING ridiculous for the last 20 years, with diving and soft tackles becoming fouls, and what would have just been considered a foul is a certain yellow.

Now it is ridiculous.

I’d imagine I’ll always watch football, but I have watched much less over the last 4-5 years and I certainly don’t enjoy it as much as I used to.

For me the physical aspect of the game was just as important as the skills and technique.

They lost 2-0 AET.
No doubt Steve Bruce will blame the trade winds in the Indian Ocean / 5G / Covid / Obese Elephants in South Africa and the cost of socks in Primark.
They couldnt win a flippin raffle.(n)
If they did, their prize would probably just be Debenhams vouchers anyway knowing Ashley

My 90 year old ManU fan Aunt called it out as cheating too. Blamed the change in the game to foreign palyers (and she is not a racist), then I reminded her of Fanny Lee..... I don't think it's 'professional' to go down easy, but it happens all the time. The only people who can change this are the refs, and during the arsenal game he did that but only went half way and should have booked the diver.

Francis Lee was the worst ever. Blatant. He dived more and more as he got older and put on weight; couldn’t play like he used so just threw himself to floor more and more. Rather sad and pathetic really.

That football club is symptomatic of everything which is wrong, has gone wrong and could go wrong, in modern football: from the owner to the Manager to the players - and to the "fans" who have been fed lies, myths and false promises for decades and made to swallow the bitter pill of disappointment and defeat.
