You never know....

Anyone used these? Reviews are good and it's that time of year when me feet get cold on the bike.

It's what I wear for mountain biking (y)
They're very effective, quite expensive but they last for ages, I've got one pair that must be at least 8 years old and they're still hanging in there.

had few pairs used them for mountain running they do keep your feet dry but my feet got quite cold and my big toe nail made a whole in them pretty quick although might not be an issue if cycling. I normally now just use wool walking socks keep my feet warm even when they get soaking for both cycling and running

Used to use them all the time for mountain biking, deffo recommend.

A side benefit, they, combined with my leggings, saved my ankle when a mut decided it wanted a taste of cyclist.

I'm in very wet Vigo in northwest Spain today I m going to put my sealkskinz socks on , I don't wear waterproof shoes anymore.despite sealkskinz having a dodgy rep in some places, they have served me well, better than the Bridgedale storm socks I have , I have wide feet and find that some sealkskinz have a looseness which is perfect for me, while the more well made Bridgedale can be too tight on my feet, which if it's keeping the moisture in can cause skin to peel.

I suffer from cold feet and have tried every overshoe and sock combo going with no luck. The only thing that worked was Northwave winter boots. I got some in the Wiggle sale last year for £112 and wow, they are the business. Toasty dry feet!!

The fizik boots are recommended but crikey - what a price

Northwave Boots are what he likes. The price of the Castelli Ros jacket. Ouch!!!!

I have an Alpha ROS jersey too… best bit of kit I’ve ever bought. If you can snare one in the sales you’ll never be wet or cold when riding in winter!!

These bits do seem expensive but I’ve had one Alpha jersey for 8 years and it’s still going strong. For winter kit I tend to buy a couple of well made items that just do the job. So far they are lasting and keeping me warm. Big initial outlay but when you can use them for years it’s not too bad.

I use flats as I've long since given up on road bikes as my cycling is very slow and leisurely. At the moment I have a pair of Chrome shoes which do the job and look casual off the bike, although they're not cheap. I don't suffer from cold feet, just the opposite - I sleep all winter with them out from the bedcovers.

Sealskins socks (military equivalent) can be bought from the army surplus shop on Wallis Road, Skippers lane ind est. Not exactly cycling socks, more welly/boot socks but are the same item for a fraction of the price. They are used items but in perfect condition .

Aldi sometimes get waterproof socks in the middle aisle, had a pair for a few year and they’ve been spot on for the money

I don't cycle but my manager at work does and he's recommended them to me several times. Not sure why he keeps recommending them because he knows I don't cycle so they must be really good.

Sounds like he just wants to see you in sealskinz

Thank you for this. May have to treat myself - more than I (used to) spend on running shoes, and I thought they were too expensive.
