Of course you can but when you compare it to the other options personally I don’t think it’s a good one. The magic of football is the incredible things that happen the teams avoiding relegation on the final day after being dead and buried earlier in the season and because that does happen - avg points per game doesn’t cut it. If they go down this route the legal cases will rumble on for years.
All the more reason to play out the season then!
It’s an option but as I have always said in this issue there are no ideal options. With your proposal at what point would you call it a day and say we can’t finish the season?
Remember Leicesters remarkable run then the following season winning the PL, Arsenal needing 2 clear goal over Liverpool to win the league, Boro beating Newcastle to stay up while waiting for the result elsewhere & the fans celebrating when it came through, Carlisles keeper scoring a goal to keep em in the league, the list is endless, imagine those moments played out to empty stadiums or never happened at all, football is about teams & fans, end of
