Scottish Premiership has ended

Scottish football absolutely stinks from the top, if leagues are going to be cancelled they have to be null and void, hearts were in form and looking like they may sneak out of trouble. The SPL were desperate for Celtics 9 in a row rubbish.

Unrelated, but it shows how just how horribly uncompetitive the Scottish league is that this is the second time that Celtic have won 9 titles in a row, and Rangers have also done it.
Must be so tedious being a fan of team outside of the Old Firm.

Null and void is completely unfair as well. I know in Scotland they'll get **** all, but in England your effectively giving **** clubs like Brighton 100 million for free. The only fair option is to complete the season whenever they can. It's unfortunate that in the lower leagues they can't afford to do that without most of the clubs going bust. But if you can and remain solvent and then you should.

This says it all...

None of the options are fair!

There aren't many leagues where there are more than a very few contenders. In England, it's going to be one of Liverpool, Man City or Chelsea for a long time.

Whilst I agree with where you are coming from, North of the border it is more prevalent than here, for obvious reasons.

English Clubs with 6 or more titles:
Manchester United 20
Liverpool 18
Arsenal 13
Everton 9
Aston Villa 7
Sunderland 6
Manchester City 6
Chelsea 6

Scottish Clubs with 4 or more titles:
Rangers 54
Celtic 51
Aberdeen 4
Heart of Midlothian 4
Hibernian 4

How is completing a season not fair?

Maybe not 'fairness', but players contracts that are due to expire? I don't see how this can be resolved? I don't think most clubs would welcome, and probably many players too, that you are to stay there at your current contract terms till this is all over and the league resumes as normal with plenty of income. What if it restarts and all of out of contracts and loan players deals are finished and they aren't available? We could easily lose every game. Unless we play till the 1st of June or whenever player contracts run to then stop there?

Just thinking selfishly!

To finish the season this one basically needs to run into the next, followed by the euros, followed by the next season running into the World Cup. I don’t think it’s safe to finish this season, and I don’t think it should impact on subsequent seasons. Take the hit in one season rather than prolong the pain.

Why are SPL desperate for Celtic to win 9 in a row?

Well they can extend contracts, and players won't be able to sign for anyone else. Even if they don't every team will be in the same boat, as opposed to one team having most of the top six left to play away, while another might have a bunch of **** teams at home.

As for next season, there's every chance that it may be severely disrupted also, so let's finish this one and then see where we are.

The same Hearts who were bottom of the current form table when football was suspended. The Hearts fans I know were all convinced they were going down. Scottish football has major issues and this decision has only made the situation worse.

What if the club can't afford to extend but others (with parachute money say) can? Have they mentioned the transfer window dates changing? What about players who have already signed contracts with other teams that start in July, do they all move or stay?

Whole thing is a can of worms without an obvious solution.

Whilst it’s hard the best option is null and void! You can’t make promotions and relegations on predictions.
You can I guess. They've done it in the rugby, they've done it here. I believe other European leagues have done it.
