why is everyone forgetting he kept putting transfer requests every season because we were only a one year extension only for him to drop it when no one came in for him
Not quite every year, that's an exaggeration. He was with us a decade, so guess what naturally there would be 2 renewals, He probably had 3 or 4 across a decade. Anyway he proved his worth time after time. How much did relegation cost us when we tried to replace him on the cheap?why is everyone forgetting he kept putting transfer requests every season because we were only a one year extension only for him to drop it when no one came in for him

No empathy shown to Doriva? It was more sympathy he needed given we were 6-0 down at the time.I think you'll find it was McClaren who blamed the referee.
I know popular opinion is set in stone that Brad Jones cost us relegation, but we only actually conceded four more goals the year we went down than we had in Schwarzer's last season, when he'd been pretty poor. I think he'd probably admit he'd gone stale and needed a new challenge. Not quite every year, that's an exaggeration. Well popular opinion would be very wrong seeing as Ross Turnbull played in 22 Premier League games 2008/09, I think your memory may be mistakenI know popular opinion is set in stone that Brad Jones cost us relegation, but we only actually conceded four more goals the year we went down than we had in Schwarzer's last season, when he'd been pretty poor. It was only scoring 28 goals all season that did for us.
I know he played too, but it's always Brad Jones who gets the blame when this season is talked about.Well popular opinion would be very wrong seeing as Ross Turnbull played in 22 Premier League games 2008/09, I think your memory may be mistaken
Southgate cost us. His decision to make Jones/Turnbull the goalkeepers was just one of his many mistakes.I know popular opinion is set in stone that Brad Jones cost us relegation, but we only actually conceded four more goals the year we went down than we had in Schwarzer's last season, when he'd been pretty poor. I didn't think Southgate should've been given the job, and I don't think he was particularly good at it, but I doubt it was his decision alone to sell Luke Young, Lee Cattermole, George Boateng and Fabio Rochemback and replace them with Justin Hoyte, Didier Digard and Marvin Emnes.Southgate cost us. Not from me or people I know, although, he was terrible when he took over from Turnbull, but the cost cutting and terrible recruitment since 2006/07 was the main issue that lead to our demise.I know he played too, but it's always Brad Jones who gets the blame when this season is talked about.
Agree Pears is the best keeper I have seen at Boro and as Mustoes Boots post above he kept putting transfer requests every season which is one of the reasons he will never be a hero of mine. Not fit to wear stephen pears's gloves
