School fashion....

I had Pods - grey which stood out from my charcoal Spencers. However , I wasn't a scrote so never got questioned on it
Hair highlights though ! Mate was desperate to complete the kool look so one chemistry lesson in summer 86', one less bottle of hydrogen peroxide went back into the storeroom than came out. We spent all week sharing that out and sitting in the sun. I just wanted fringe highlights which I got, mate wanted his whole flick bleached blonde. From chem teachers point of view, who do you question next week when 4 lads got new highlights and smell of hydrogen peroxide 🤷‍♂️ ( ok this is not Acklam grange but NE )

Kickers
Eclipse jacket (Spliffy)
Head backpack or that Umbro one that everyone seemed to have
For PE you either had to wear Adidas Sambas or LA Gear trainers

Went to secondary school between 87-92 Adidas Sambas
Farah slacks with a broad belt, never understood why we wore them, decent quality mind.
Sorts sleeve shirts.
The haircuts were worse, curtains, side the step, spikes etc.
never a coat, even in the depths of winter the lads would go sans coat.
Kids are mental!

I was at Acklam Grange from 92-97 and Mr Shevels seemed as old as the hills then, he was probably in his 30s :ROFLMAO:

Mr Clarke was an evil ****** to the kids who were crap at sport (nice to me).

Now I'm a grown up, and a teacher, it's funny thinking back on people like Mr Sullivan, Mt Wayne, Mr Consitt etc. who seemed like old, grumpy ****. at the time but were probably decent fellas.

Mrs Gent was a cow though.

Good job you didn't name the one ex Acklam Grange teacher who is on this messageboard in your list there.

Puma G Vilas
Sergio Tacchini or Fila trackie top

And not forgetting the heavily graffitied Army Stores heavy canvas rucksack.

Late 70s
narrow half mast trousers with docs
Donkey jacket or Levi/Wrangler.

Acklam Grange 1986 to 91 must haves...

Farah trousers (old mens slacks now)

Pringle, Lyle and Scott or at a push at Slazenger jumper.

Shirt with small collar and tie tied backwards so it's the thin end showing.

Brogues.
That’s exactly the period I was at secondary and I can confirm that fashion at Brayton High was exactly the same, except Kickers were definitely the footwear of choice.
