Absolutely, he’s been found out and holly wanted nothing to do with it. Seems like the media in this country also forced him into an admission or they were going to run something sleazy and he’s trying to get ahead of the curve

Me and my wife watch The Morning Show on Apple TV, which I thought was far fetched until the exact scenario has basically played out in front of our eyes this last few weeks.

He wasn’t threatened with being being outed as gay . He was threatened to be exposed for having an affair with another man behind his wives back . That isn’t a hate crime
 
The likes of Eamon Holmes and the cretin that is Dan Wooton are all coming out the woodwork now saying they knew all along, and suggesting there’s more to come.

Why didn’t they say anything at the time? Why were they so supportive of him when he came out as gay?

Seems like they’re trying to cover their own backs to me. Definitely more to this than meets the eye.

Could you tell me the difference between (1) a supposedly heterosexual man being outed as gay and (2) a man married to a woman being exposed having an affair with another man ?

Because speaking as a gay man, I have to be honest, I’m massively confused by your post.

Don’t go there with the hate crime stuff.

Holmes and his wife lost their jobs on This Morning for going after Schofield.

Nobody in the media could speak out because the creep took out injunctions to prevent it.

He wasn’t forced to come out, he did it to try and get ahead of the real story which was a television presenter who traded on a family man image was in fact having an affair with someone 34 years his junior, who he allegedly got the job on This Morning when they turned 18 and who he’d first met at a much younger age.

That’s a story whether the presenter is gay or straight.

It is literally the Steve Carell storyline from the Morning Show, just with a same sex relationship rather than an interracial relationship (for which he was accused of racism).

His persona and popularity was that of a dedicated family man.
I suppose they could have threatened to expose a heterosexual affair in the same way which would also have had a negative affect on his career.
The questions regarding underage grooming have however added an additional level of interest for the media to focus on. Which I think deep down is where they have always been trying to go with this, as opposed to simply the fact he is gay or had an affair.

I never got that and I wasn't shocked that Schofield was gay, I just took it for granted he was and never questioned, why would you. I was more shocked he had a wife.

I agree that the under age grooming questions are what the tabloids are digging into.

That's not what is happening at all, it isn't just a random association being made.
Schofield has admitted he knew the young lad at a very early age and there have been suggestions that he was using his own position of influence inappropriately. If that is the case then it is wrong, gay or otherwise.

The basis of the rumours seems to be that he knew the runner from a theatre group from the age of 11. The amount of low level homophobia I’ve read about this just saddens me.

I honestly have no idea what Schofields done. 50 something shagging an 18 yr old - shock horror! Not illegal last time I looked.

Apologies if that is how I've come across in this post, it certainly wasn't meant to sound like that. I honestly couldn't give a **** if anyone is gay, straight or however they want to be known and I am certainly not suggesting that every gay person is a peadophile.
