Sam Morsy on Chuba

Yaya Sanogo fromToulouse was first choice , which took ages to fall through due to Boro thinking do we risk it on the medical results or do we leave it. Luckily we left it.

Yoos lot never heard of reverse psychology, some players respond to that sort of banter....

Thanks 👍

Out of the 23 signings(including 7 loans)whilst he was here, from what I can see only 3 players are still here and by the sounds of it one of them(Akpom) he didn't want and belittled him in front of the squad, the other doesn't seem fancied by the club and will most probably be moved on(Payero). Crooks is the other one that is left from the Warnock era.
His final transfer window was summer 2021 so in less than 2 years we have moved on 13/16 players that where brought in while he was in charge.

What did you expect ? Most of those signings were loans, free transfers and short term deals where Neil was trying to plug gaps ...Bolasie, Kebano, NML, etc.etc

unfathomable that people idolise Warnock, bloke was a pillock
This x 100

I do not get the adoration that this serial failure gets from some on here. Yeah he did a job to keep us up. But I honestly think that we wouldn't have gone down even if we'd stuck with Woody. Then there was the tiresome trashing of referees and persistent public blaming of individual players following defeat.

I didn't expect anything, neither did I give an opinion on it. I just stated facts and statistics. I also mentioned that 7 of the 23 players where loans.

What I find interesting is that Karanka behaved in exactly the same way with a lot of our players (if you listen to podcasts with ex-players etc), yet some still talk about him as though he was a club legend of sorts.

I think its fair to say that we haven't had any managers since Robson who have actually been universally popular for a prolonged period of time (even Robbo had has critics tbf). Carrick is the closest thing we've had since. Southgate/Mowbray still loved because of credit they had in the bank as players.

Pulis, Warnock, Wilder all had their place in a certain time and at a certain level.

As for Chuba it's very apparent he is an arm around the shoulder type rather than a kick up the backside, must have been obviously to Warnock but probably didn't have the skill set to do that properly.

Some players do, I agree. But good managers know which players they are.
Chuba clearly wasn't one of them.
And now that we know Chuba's character a little bit better since then, it should have been obvious to a skilled man manager. Or even an average man manager. Or to a fellow human being.

Neil is well known as being the best man manager in the business kid 👍
