What are peoples thoughts on him so far?

I'm still not massively convinced on him personally. He's scored 4 very good goals so fair play for that.

But....apart from his performance away at Sunderland, i'm finding large parts of games just pass him by. He's starting to strike me as a bit of a luxury player who doesn't offer a great deal when we're up against it.

Maybe this explains why his option to buy is only £1.5m? Already found out by the hierarchy at leeds maybe?

That said, he's better than Rogers and Silvera but that doesn't take much.

I think he is talented, has ability others doesnt in the squad.

I dont think he starts in our strongest 11 at the minute. But is streets ahead of our other 'squad' players.

I would buy him personally as i can see another season in the championship next year and i think he will improve.

Thought he had a decent first half last night tbh. He is a bit loose in possession at times but I also think he’s being used incorrectly. I would like to see him start a couple of games as a 10 before I judge him. When he moved inside in the first half last night he was involved in a couple of exciting bits of play which started some attacks.

He's OK. I think if McGree / Hackney / Forss / O'Brien were fit, then for me he would be only a bit-part players for us.

Capable of tidy play and has a quality free kick, and has scored a few - but sometimes seem to run out of ideas when barrelling forward with the ball into the area. Was abysmal when he found himself in wide rights against Ipswich, when Jones was suspended.

I put him and Rodgers and Silvera in the same bracket - each of them have some qualities and might come good, but if we are looking at them as replacements for Apkom, Ramsey and the injured McGree, then they are not in the same bracket.

Agree with that - I think he is plugging a gap at the minute and is more of a no.10/ drifter in the centre player.

Needs to float in and out of pockets of space. As I think on the ball he is very neat and confident.

I'm a fan. In terms of technical ability he's one of our better players but I agree his mentality and application isn't always great (which is probably why he isn't a premier league player).

In our position I guess we have to get comfortable with the fact that we will have some very good technical players who are inconsistent (Lee Tomlin anyone?) Otherwise they wouldn't be here long anyway (Chuba) or wouldn't come in the first place.

He's struggled to establish a role for himself too, which is perhaps not surprising as he can play in multiple positions. I think LW or AM are his best positions and I hope he gets a run in at least one of those positions soon.

As for £1.5m he's probably worth at least that already, so minimal risk on the outlay for me and I'd sign him up.

When those lot are fit i think we'll see the best of him. I would play him in the crooks role and tell him to drive at defences

He has talent, but does not apply it often enough.
I think he is capable of much more than he showed last night.
I don't think many of the others are.

Agree with you, he is the only one out of the new batch of attacking options who I see room for genuine improvement unfortunately.

Think there was worse players on pitch last night would of liked him to play more central and took Crooks off instead

He linked up well with Engel at times down our left side during the 1st half. I liked how he kept coming central and dropping deep to receive the ball, then played a few nice balls over to Engel.

I feel he struggles to impose himself on the game playing out wide. Think it's time now to give him a run of games playing as a 10.

Not a good performance from him last night but he'll be inconsistent at his age. Has a great free kick on him but that's no reason to have him in the first team.

He isn't good enough for a team at the top of this division yet, he may never be.

hot and cold
poor attitude
as i mentioned yesterday: check out the sky coverage from last night, as the halftime whistle goes latte lath went over to him to explain how he wants the ball and greenwood completely pied him off. not acceptable for me.

He holds on to the ball too long sometimes, a bit like Rogers, and tries to take too many players on instead of passing - a bit early to judge yet, but he definitely has potential

This is what I posted the other day on the same subject and my mind hasn't been changed yet:

I think he's *****. He is a rubbish striker being played left wing because he doesn't have the strength or pace to play up front on his own. In any of the positions behind the striker he's massively ineffectual. He's rubbish with the ball, makes the wrong decision almost every time, poor passer, holds on to the ball far too long, dribbles into dead ends and loses the ball. He occasionally gets in the right place at the right time to score the odd goal and his free kick against Leicester was great but I don't think those moments are enough to justify his inclusion.

Happy to see this post blow up in my face but I just don't see it with him. He's technically a good footballer so he could be good but no pace, strength or decision making lets him down.
