Ryanair - Another Money Making Ruse

Why would people refuse to fly with them, he's not doing anything immoral he's just using a different model to some of the more traditional airlines. So rather than offering a "all in" price, he offers a basic model which you can then augment with extras in order to arrive at a final price (which is still often cheaper than the more traditional equivalent). The charges aren't hiddem, they're displayed in the terms and conditions before you proceed to payment.

No different to plenty of other industries, yet people seem to think he's doing something unethical or criminal.
I never mentioned he is doing anything unethical or criminal, I stated he's got hidden charges or should I say additional fees that may not be immediately apparent when booking a ticket. Budget airlines often offer low base fares to tempt people in but make up for it by charging extra for various services or amenities.

You need or can pay extra for baggage fees, seat selection, priority boarding, credit card fees, printed boarding passes, airport check-in and some airlines add fuel surcharges.

Standard seat selection and boarding cards used to be included in the base fare and were allocated on a first come first served basis. Personally, I feel it led to a better customer experience and satisfaction when booking and did not leave a bad taste in your mouth like this nickel and dime approach does.

We used to buy food at the airport to eat on the plane but the sanwiches available in spain have a use by date on them months ahead and are tasteless.

I don't mind Ryanair. You get what you pay for. The thing I don't like is the "random" seat allocation. It is in no way random. It deliberately chooses seats apart. There is no chance of getting seats together. We went on a stag do last year where we booked 20 seats together and not a single one was next to another.

This always causes delays as well because everyone is sitting down as a single instead of groups of people sitting in a row so there are always people stood in the aisle letting people in. You have people negotiating with each other to swap seats. Then you have people dotted around trying to talk to each other, they stand together in the aisle during the flight etc.

All in all it makes for a rubbish experience and even if you pay for all the extras you have to put up with all those inconveniences anyway.

It's also dangerous in an emergency trying to get to brother ,wife, friend etc when they are a distance away. It's criminal and should not be allowed on health and safety.
