Ryanair - Another Money Making Ruse

The petulant thing about choosing random seats, there was 6 of us went to Poland last year, we chose random seats and they scattered us around the plane, so we reserved seats on way back.
at least if you queue for 30 minutes they are not likely to seat you apart.

Is this actually true or is it more PR to get people talking about Ryanair and sell more tickets?

If it’s cheaper than a reserved seat, or free, then it might be worth doing ?
Just playing devils advocate.
I’ve had some amazing flights to amazing cities from as little as 99p with Ryanair. Never had an issue with the value for money side of things.

After all the fanny on they're not budget airlines any more, might as well fly with a normal carrier.
I have a very specific case I accept that but there's often the point that ryanair don't use the most convenient airports too.

I love near heathrow so these figures are skewed but it's WAY cheaper for me to get to the airport of I fly from there than if I go to Stansted or luton (£1.50 for LHR and who know for the others, depending on what trains I book)

I do think people fail to fctor in other savings when booking ryanair, and just see the headline cost

You know what the answer is to this, don't fly with them. If people refused to pay Ryan Air and other budget airlines hidden charges then they would soon change their mind on this. The trouble is, too many are willing to pay for a seat, to take a bag on, etc. and you can bet your bottom dollar, there will be plenty come on here and defend his strategy.

Why would people refuse to fly with them, he's not doing anything immoral he's just using a different model to some of the more traditional airlines. So rather than offering a "all in" price, he offers a basic model which you can then augment with extras in order to arrive at a final price (which is still often cheaper than the more traditional equivalent). The charges aren't hiddem, they're displayed in the terms and conditions before you proceed to payment.

No different to plenty of other industries, yet people seem to think he's doing something unethical or criminal.

Fine in principle, but the basic price misleads many people, with so many add ons "offered", what won't he add to the menu of options that really are basics.
Ryan Air is excellent value if you are a single walk on without luggage on a short flight, have loads of time, and live close to an airport and are happy to travel to an airport a long and usually expensive journey from the city you are actually heading for.

Like having to catch a bus to get your uber, then being told you have to pay more for your bag and a specific seat, before catching another bus from where the uber chooses to drop you off.
Oh and only to be able to get that uber at ridiculous times.

He's very smart, but his extreme revenue management makes me wish him ill. I will only use his airline if they happen to be the only airline travelling from near me to near where I need to go.
Thankfully that doesn't happen very often.
