Ryan Lowe on Emil Riis amid Boro interest

Looks like CW philosophy, just out score the opposition, we cant keep cleansheets, so if you score 3, we'll score 4, exciting times indeed 😁

Watmore scores 1 every 3/4 games over his time with us, I won't go further back because he wasn't a striker but it gets worse.
Akpom is a 1 in 6/7 games striker with us and PAOK.
Forss hasn't had a huge amount if starts so his numbers look low.
Hoppe was 1 in 4 in the Bundesliga

Muniz, Larsen and Riis have proven they can be better than that so I would expect them to be our main threat and the others to chip in when they can. Strikers tend to score in patches. It'll be good to have options but I think we are definitely expecting our 1st choice pairing to get a significant number of goals each.

You're right but I think there's much more chance of a proven striker getting 15 or 20 than the others averaging 10
I agree, I'd rather have Riis.

However, if we were signing Riis, I think it would have been instead of 1-2 of the strikers we've just brought in, not as well as.

I dunno, I reckon it's separate lists/ targets for buys and loans unless we were hoping for someone to take daft money on the buys.

It still means we've not spent a great deal of the Spence/ Tav money, and I expect us to be spending at least half of that, one way or another.

Riis has been on the bench for Preston’s last three Championship games and last four in total, leaving some to wonder if North End will sell.

Boro haven’t yet reached Preston’s lofty asking price though, which is certainly justified by Riis hitting 20 goals in all competitions last season.

Wilder wants two more strikers this month even with Hoppe and Forss already on board.

Muniz will be one of them, but a loan deal means Boro will likely splash the cash on their next striker signing.

That could be Riis, but Boro will surely have to push towards £10million if they want to tempt Preston into selling.

?

Tend to agree with you there newy. Good finisher but defence was weak on a lot of those goals. Seldom see our strikers with as much time on the ball.
Defences are weak in the Championship, that's why you've got to capitalise.

He would get more chances against those weak defences with us, we've got the best wing-backs in the league, and we're trying to play on the front foot, and with the ball.

But surely that’s the art of a quality striker, to find that time and space with clever movement

16 goals in 44 games is absolutely breath taking as far as we are concerned! I just don't see the quality, certainly not £10m quality.

We have another loan spot free and personally I would use that to bring in a striker (Cameron Archer) and and remaining monies to spend on a prem quality midfielder.
