Ryan Giles

I really wanted the lad to do well but the first was just him being out classed by an England International. The 2 nd he just switched off. He was stood next to the lad who crossed it and let him run 20 yds past him barely jogging after him.Very poor defending .
 
As Edwards said last week games against Brighton and Chelsea are akin ti playing clubs in a different division. Their battles will be against the bottom 8 clubs.

We could and were prepared to. But we didn’t want the buy back with Wolves and Luton offered more up front. Think we all just need to move on from Giles.

Just wait until they play a decent team dynamic side, when Luton lose their confidence and get a couple of injuries/suspensions then they're gonna get absolutely battered.

Got to say Giles has been targetted as a defensive weak point today, Sterling did him for his first goal, and scored off someone getting in behind him for the second, third goal, Sterling in behind him again. Culpable for all 3 goals.

I'll stick to my prediction, that this move came too early for him, he's a novice defensively.
 
Probably be able to get him on loan in January . Stood watching for the 2nd goal. His crossing has been awful aswel.

Doesn't help hes playing in a woeful team.

So what about the 2nd goal then, not picking his runner up, he did the same thing for Brighton's 1st goal two weeks ago.
He cannot defend and has no awareness of what's going on around him when defending.
Teams will target Luton's left hand side all season, Burnley and Brighton did with us last season.

Agreed.
Last season, as Carrick said "is done" and we cant compare this seasons team with last year. Carrick wants to sign more players permenantly and use less loan players. (y)

I'm not watching so I've not seen them. I'm not saying he's a great defender or anything either but reading this thread it is full of people desperate for him to fail. Like people watching their ex on social media for signs of their new relationship being unhappy. It's a bit sad because he seemed like a decent bloke and he only had good things to say about us.

Teams don't need to target him. The whole Luton side is miles away from being a PL team. They will get battered most weeks. That was always going to be true. Whether he came to us or Luton is almost irrelevant because chances are he'll be in the championship next season. He'll be in a team that has been promoted before, they won't have lost many of their players and they'll have £100m plus parachute payments more than we have. There's also a chance, no matter how small, of him doing well and getting a move to another PL team.
