Not really carrick is an inspirational manager its quite understandable they wont hit the same heights elsewhere. Look at poor archer he has to work with that motivational dinasour wilder poor ladIts amazing how players get worse when they leave us with no chance of coming back.
It wasn’t Giles that was the issue. He wanted to come back even after the Luton interest.Has he not burnt his bridges with the club after they thought they had a £5M deal lined up until Luton came in?

Thought it was Luton gazumping on the fee at the last minute?agent?
So your biggest summer transfer plays next season, not this season, yeah that makes loads of sense....Luton signed Giles for next season...
Coulsen replacementGiles was great, I'd have no problem with him coming back at some point. Can't be now though. Even if you think he's a better player than Engel and/or Bangura our whole model is young players improving and being sold for profit. We can't accommodate 3/4 LBs in the squad. Engel and Bangura need to be playing.
We agreed a fee with Wolves and assumed it was a done deal until Luton came in and offered him a higher wage. Giles camp came back to us and asked us to improve our offer, albeit saying he would accept less that what Luton were offering. We refused to budge so he signed for Luton.Thought it was Luton gazumping on the fee at the last minute?
I agree he is, but he would of eaten up a much bigger proportion of our summer spend and, so far, it seems he isn't up to PL football, so if we had gone up and signed him it may have been a mistake.early signs are that in that position Giles is twice the player of those two
