Ryan Giles in on the left, to partner Doak on the right?

Now Hull are in a schitt state.
Giles got nowhere at Luton.
He's got nowhere at Hull.
Needs to revamp his career.
Sign up for a reasonable fee and partner Doak on the opposite wing.
With Conway, LL, Azaz, et al., we could pizz off all comers in this league.

I think that time has passed. Carrick has switched us around to a right-side bias and I think he needs a more defensively-minded full back on the left. What we need is someone like a left-footed Dijksteel. I reckon Borges (and Engel if he ever comes back) will be good enough for this season and Ayling has shown he can act as emergency cover. McCormick has never let us down but perhaps he was ill for the Blackburn match because it was odd he wasn't in the subs.

#1. Don't fall in love with loan players.

#2. Giles had the option to come here, and he opted for Luton.

#3. We have always primarily attacked down one side - having every single player attacking doesn't work, for obvious reasons.

#4. Borges and Engel are more than adequate left backs.

I agree - but this would have probably been Bangura if he was fit.

Not to be a right negative Nancy, but the lads played about 60minutes of senior football, hardly had chance to let us down has he

Just making the point that between Borges, Engel, Ayling and McCormick we have 3 left backs and one who can cover on the books. I actually think Borges may improve quite a lot but he's struggling to adapt and keeps playing with different players in front of him. At this point I would try and get him and Burgzorg a run of games together seeing as McGree is made of cheese strings these days. It would do them both good.

Giles best bit of form for us, or anybody for that matter, is when playing as a LB, attacking from deep with acres of space to attack due to Mcgree/Ramsey infront of him vacating the space in front of him and taking players with them.

It would be an different role entirely asking him to replicate what he did from left back as a LW.

So to answer the question, No.

And we wont be singing ANOTHER LB, Borges has done more than enough to warrant us sticking with him and seeing if he can cement his place in the team and become the attacking outlet the team needs.

With Bangura back, and our first choice midfield, we do pizz the league.

The real question is why does the player who had such a good season for us now seemingly not fit into a successive number of managers plans? You can perhaps not be favoured by one manager for tactical reasons etc. But how many managers is it now since he finished with us that have not played him? And why?

He can't defend. We don't need that adding into our already relatively fragile defence. I know the OP suggested he is brought in to player higher up the pitch but if that is the position we need to look to fill don't go looking at players that don't ordinarily play there.
