Rumours of Morsy

Ipswich do have very wealthy new owners.

It may be no more than new owners+ old manager= speculation though.

wealthy owners or not why would a player want to move down a division— especially as he’s a first team player at the Boro. Ok he’s struggled a bit for form and maybe forming a good partnership in midfield which has never been the same week to week. I would say this though perhaps he’s been told something so he’s jumping before he’s pushed.

Wouldn’t lose any sleep if he went. He is not quick or athletic enough to play in the Championship in my opinion, and although not good enough for us he would be a steady enough player in League One.

Good player at our level. Just needs to get and stay fit and injury free. Expect him to be huge for us next season

I think this is the press doing their usual lazy journalism to fill column inches. Ex-manager + ex- favourite player = random story cobblers.

If anything the Boro could do with a few more nasty b*stards like Morsy. I hear he got an A- in his sh*thousery exam.

Hardly set the world on fire - would lose no sleep over him going if proper replacements brought in but as someone else has said just lazy journalism probably.

Got to agree with a lot of what you say. Not very quick or mobile. Favours sideways and backward passes. Combine him with Saville and let's be honest that is not going to enable us to compete with the top teams.

I’m sure this stems from a report in the East Anglian Times. Morsy is listed with a whole host of players who have played for Cook and claiming he may be interested in them! Didn’t count them - but there are lots of them!

Decent holding midfield player at our level. He does the dirty part of the game well. People used to dislike Clayton for the same reason unfortunately. We are a mid-table Championship team, I doubt we can attract the new George Boateng at the present time.

There are far more urgent positions in the team to resolve and other players that should be sacrificed to bring in money first. Any player we sell has to be replaced and whoever they are replaced with ideally needs to be just as good if not better. Doing that on a shoestring, whist not impossible, would be a tough ask.

Sell Saville, Wing, Akpomb and Walker to start with, if we can that is. That would be my preference then after that anyone for a really big fee v their value only if we must.

I'd be very surprised at this, especially given he's a Warnock type of player.

He's not the easiest on the eye and is a bit ungainly at times, but that tends to mask how effective he actually is. I'd be interested to see how many points we picked up with, or without him, in the side.
