Ross Barkley

Not sure about this one.

At Everton, he showed he had bags of ability, but for one reason or another, his career has nose dived.

Don't think I'd want us to spend time/money/effort on someone who hasn't got a lot to give.

I trust us to make the correct decision though.

The big (wages) move to Chelsea killed his career. Young stars being seduced by the money and glamour.

Think in the right team, keeping injury free, would be a good Championship signing.

Wouldn't give him more than a year "prove it" deal though.

The problem with a year to prove it deal is that he could well move on if he does prove it, as his stock would have risen.

Another not sure, looked the real deal about six or seven years ago, really lost his way at Chelsea but that must be a difficult environment to settle in to. On balance worth a gamble short term, maybe like we did with Watmore?

£0 a week now though.
Doesn't mean he won't have expectations though.

I wonder if MC knows him personally?
I share the doubts over his character, but I'd trust MC if he has knowledge of the guy.
Pretty much this, I trust the clubs judgement, allowing for the obvious risk that it brings.

We did the same with Ramirez and a few others, he could be a brilliant signing and Carrick is fantastic at managing people, that's obvious.

Not convinced, always been hyped and delivered little, looks like one of those players that doesn't have the hunger after showing potential early days.

Danny Drinkwater

you can feel the risk.
Fortunately looks like the lessons of summer 2017 may have been learned?

Would like to feel we are in a much more sensible place now regarding transfers???

Fingers and toes firmly crossed

When we played Everton in the cup at the Riverside he and Lukaku stood out a mile.

Playing as a #10 that night, which i suspect is where we'd see him, if it ever happened of course.

Think with this type of player, his injury history and general question marks over how good he is now, we couldn't afford to be saddled with him for 2-3 years with our fingers crossed he comes good.

Plays well, offer him a longer contract......or have his contract massively incentive / bonus laden.

He could leave if he performs well, but think that is a risk we would need to take.🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

I think he'd be a brilliant signing, and would arguably be the best player in the league. I'd imagine he'll have plenty of offers though, and from other stories I've seen from Teamtalk, they talk shyte, so I'm not holding my breath on this one.

If we can get him anywhere near his best he would comfortably be the best player in the league.

That said, doesn't seem an obvious fit. Don't think he does enough off the ball for the midfield two, could be competition for Chuba but more likely his replacement.

Part of me thinks if this was to happen could Carrick get the best out of him and if so, he could be an awesome player for this league.

Then i think knowing our look it will be another Ravel Morrison and an expensive one at that
