She's not funny imo. I don't think there's many funny comdeians out there at the minute.
I dont get this box ticking term ? I mean some people find her funny. Some don't.

Don’t find her funny but there’s a lot of U.K comedians I don’t find remotely funny. The U.S are currently lightyears ahead of us.

Comedy is very much subjective. I mean I'd rather stick pins in my bell end that watch anything with Lee Evens. Yet sells out every tour and plenty love him.

I do find Rosie Jones a bit hard to watch. I've no doubt she has a comedic brain. Yet through no fault of her own finds it difficult to deliver.

Also not 100% about jokes about disabilities. It's apparently 'fine' as it's from someone who's disabled. I'm not sure about that.

That said ain't going to slate her for it. Making the most of what must be a difficult life.

I work at a place Rosie came to play. The audience absolutely loved it.
Did they come to see her in particular though or was it just a "comedy night" type thing with several comics?

If its the former then not really a surprise is it? Most people tend not to buy tickets to see people they don't like. If it's the latter then fair play.

I've never seen her stand up so don't have an opinion either way.

They came to see her show - they came out totally rocking, absolutely loved it. It wasn't one where they tried it and gave polite laughter sort of gig, they were crying laughing on the way out.

Why does it have to be a box ticking exercise if someone happens to appear on TV who isn’t a white British man?
Can’t people just accept that’s comedy, some people will clearly find her funny, and others don’t
People like Jimmy Carr massively split opinion, some love him, most probably hate him. But no one is claiming he is appearing on TV as a box ticking exercise
Absolutely. People will try to claim anyone who isn't white, straight and male is a box ticking exercise whether its comedy, presenting, punditry etc. You see it all the time in social media

You missed Daniel Kitson off that list, who in my opinion is the best comedian around, slightly ahead of Stewart Lee.
I bet most people wouldn’t have a clue who he is. They have probably only seen him in Phoenix Nights. British comedians usually have him in their top 3 though.
